So if I understand this correctly, since my character is a High Elf I can only buy a house located in Khenarthis Roost, Auridon, Grahtwood, Greenshade, Malabal Tor or Reaper's March. Is this right?

No, buying base game houses is often linked to zone achievements but you can buy houses in any zone as long as you meet the requirements.

Thank you. I probably won't buy a house for a long while but it never hurts to shop around. This can be a bit confusing for new players.

I wanted to purchase Twin Arches (in Bangkorai) as my first home with gold on my AD character, so I had to complete all of the faction quests for DC to be able to purchase it.

If you buy with crowns I don’t think you have to have those same requirements.

That is correct. The prerequisites are only for if you’re buying with gold. With Crowns, you can buy any house available in the store.

I actually like the idea of buying a house with gold instead of crowns. I also didn't realize you can bypass the prerequisites.

Well, you made me check, because I can be wrong (believe it or not).

Things can change. But they didn't. Anyone can buy Twin Arches, no achievements needed. It's a small house. In fact anyone can buy a medium (now that is, that was different long ago). Like House of the Silent Magnifico.

A Large or bigger, however, like Hunding's, needs various achievements or whatever. I tend to bother to find out only when interested. With gold of course.

Thank you. It seems there are a lot of articles/guides on the web that aren't up to date and it's hard to know what's currant.
