I can't believe (although I think it's amazing) that we're going to be able to get a chance at crate rewards via in game activities!

Gee, what a great thing - they're introducing mind-numbing grind alternative to gambling. Amazing how shamelessly they introduce f2p mechanics into a fully priced game that has separately sold DLCs, microtransactions and premium subscription.

I have a few radiants. Why would it matter if someone else had a chance to also get them? It doesn't take any of mine away.

Keeps players engaged and likely helps to skirt EU anti gambling regs.

Great news for those who want items from the crates and can't get crates in their country without having to go through someone else to buy crates etc.

From reading the article, many of the endeavors would happen naturally as you played, so I don't really think it will be a grind unless you are really trying to get something specific that is time limited

Whilst I welcome this before everyone thinks they will be getting radiants they are not going to be cheap, you are going to have to earn a lot of Endeavours for them. Good luck

OMG this is exciting! I really don't care how grindy it is, it's better than no option at all like what we have now.

    (or risk crown trading, shudders)

This potentially means we can start earning mounts in-game. (Finally).

Hope it's not super restrictive and grindy...

But good news. Good move ZOS.

I've spent quiet a share of crows on mounts and pets (not Crown Crates, though) and I couldn't care less if the great elk was suddenly made available as an in-game reward through a quest or whatever. I've been enjoying my elk for many years.

What I do want is more pets and mounts to be made available in the crown store, instead of 90% of them being reserved to the Crown Crates. Since they introduced the crates I've been getting a feeling the items in the crown store are less and of poorer quality.

    Again. Why would I care?

Anyone who gets upset because somebody has something they also have is EXTREMELY selfish.

It sounds like very good news, but I'm curious about how it's going to work in practice, in particular how long it takes to get any given item. If doing endeavours every day up to the cap means that once a year you'll be able to afford 1 legendary (100 gem) item then it's not going to be a practical alternative to buying crates. But even if that's the case it's better than nothing.

I'm also curious about whether all endeavours award seals and if any combination of endeavours which take you up to the cap will award the same number of seals or if people who specifically want to get seals might need to be careful about which ones they do first.

And yes I suspect this is an example of ZOS trying to get ahead of the increasing trend of loot boxes being included in gambling legislation. I've also heard Microsoft don't like loot boxes in their games, but I'm not sure of the specifics there. (The only game I've played recently which I know is by Microsoft is Ori and the Blind Forest - great game but not really helpful in this case.)

But it's also a nice fix to the problem of the majority of mounts and a lot of costumes, mementos, etc. being restricted to crown crates with fewer options to earn interesting cosmetic rewards (aside from motifs) in-game.

If items will be priced fairly then I'll enjoy it, but I doubt it. More like 10hrs of grind for some small cosmetics. I like to be wrong, though :-) Im more afraid about this daily system, I hope its non-intrusive (not like Nightwave in WF, where I quit because of it). Not great, not terrible, we'll see...

I've had the same feeling. In a way it's good because the amount I spend on crowns dropped off considerably after crates were introduced so it's saved me some money, but it's often been frustrating to look through the crown store showcase and see little/nothing of interest and then look at the new crates and see several things I like and would buy if I could get them directly.

I see this as a good thing, something that could give people a chance to get stuff without spending exorbitant amounts of money via gamblecrates in order to get things.

Now I would like to better understand people who have a problem with this, because I don't see the hard downside to this.

I don't see a downside to it either. The worst case scenario I can see is it's worthless because endeavours are too grindy/difficult/time consuming to be worth completing, most of the rewards aren't worth having and the crown crate items are so expensive in the new currency that it's unrealistic to try to get any before the crates change over.

But in that case players can simply ignore the system and carry on as they did before. You don't gain anything, but it's not taking anything away either. You might occasionally complete an endeavour without even trying because it happens to coincide with what you're doing anyway and then you get some unexpected free stuff, otherwise the game is the same as before.

Edit: I suppose if you're opposed to crown crates and don't think this will be a good alternative one downside is that having this system makes it less likely they'll remove the crates entirely or offer another alternative.

Let us wait and see what the drop rate of these seals is first and how many of them you need to obtain the things you wish for yes.

And also what activities exactly are required to obtain them

Note that you can't convert the junk items obtained this way to gems.
So that is one big downside.

Edit - Ok seals are a currency, but I bet it takes a whole bunch to get a mount.
