Cyrodiil is unplayable again today. It's utterly broken even with set restrictions lag is worse than ever.
How does performance keep getting worse? ZOS takes away 96% of the sets and performance still gets worse. How can things keep getting worse and worse and worse?
it def seems this proc set restriction has little to no effect on the lag and somehow seems to have made it worse?
They need to figure out how to make more of the game client side without sacrificing security and integrity of the game. Not sure how they are going to do that but that seems to be the only way to fix this besides overhoualing their servers with next gen software and tech that can actually handle to countless tasks being performed every second.
ZOS explicitly said back on March 5 that the set restrictions didn’t help performance and that they were keeping them for other reasons.
They've also said they're replacing the servers this year but expect no performance increase.
So far all we know is that they don’t intend to run any more tests and that they “have a better idea of next steps and the work needed to produce noticeable improvements to performance in Cyrodiil.”
I think the lag is because of the engine itself. I don't think they can do anything about it. Maybe they can squeak out a little bit here and there. I think the decision to bring calculations server side was the big hit on performance, but I guess they couldn't do anything else to stop cheaters.
Today was even worse. Lag was actually slightly better, but I got two disconnects and one BSOD in a two hour raid. Everyone in group was having connection issues, not just me.
My lag in PvE is fine. Everything is playable in PvE as far as I can tell. Just don't ever expect cyrodiil to work I guess. They appear to have reduced population caps yet again, they for sure took out 96% of the sets, and performance still tanks. What is wrong with this picture?
They need to remove more of the content maybe than it should work the animals and vegetation didnt help also procs didnt work hmm... We need sherlock to buy servers.
It's got nothing to do with procs.
It's probably still caused minorly by the cross healing in groups, but at the end of the day it's just the game's code and the servers it runs on.
400ms? You must be new here. Sometimes it happens that when several ball gropus are online even NPCs lag, not to mention players. E.g. 1 skill per 5s, or having to use the same skill three times because even though the animation started and supposedly ended correctly the skill for some reason did not activate. #esoperformance
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.
