Symphony of Blades pack weapons lighting bugged

Hello
It seems that the items in Symphony of Blades arms pack are similarly bugged as some other crown arms pack were previously. The weapons itself are lighted but they do not emit light or cause ambient light around them. Here is a comparison between the Symphony of Blades staff and Iceheart staff (sorry, another one is a destro and the other is resto but I guess the effect itself is visible nevertheless). It can clearly be seen that the Iceheart staff illuminates both the character and the wall, but Symphony of Blades staff doesn't do either.

They also don't always glow if you're dual wielding swords. Sometimes it's only one, and you have to bar swap to get them both to light up. :(

I was about to report the same issue.

Do other weapon styles with the same light effect (not the lightning, but the yellow templar-ish light) also emit light? I only own the Molag Kena, which are lightning and do emit light, so I can't compare any other monster styles.

Hey, is the fix in works or it's intended behaviour?

I only have Iceheart in addition to Symphony of Blades so I cannot compare others. My knowledge about the previous bug(s) was based on the earlier discussions/posts at this forum related to some other sets.

My intention was to test if other pieces of this set light their surroundings (IIRC last time the issue applied only to some of the pieces in the pack), but it was daytime in the game yesterday when I logged in, so couldn’t get the same setting for testing.

Ok, thank you. I can say the SoB bow and sword do not emit light on the character/environment, so that’s three pieces with the staff from the picture above. I haven’t tested the shield or two-hander.

That’s unfortunate to hear — kinda makes me think that it might be intentional that they are missing the effect. But let’s hope it’s not and that it’s just a bug. I actually kinda always assumed that Crown Store arms pack items always have those glowing effects and emit light around them (since so many of those seem to do that) and that it was part of the pricing, but I’m not sure anymore.

Me too. I filed a bug report, since the light emission is not something that is readily apparent in previews. Given that it is present for the lightning effect on weapon packs like MK, I don't think it's unfair to assume it would come with all of them absent any indication to the contrary.

I wonder if the other arms packs that are bugged will be getting the same fixes?

Probs we need more fuss about it, was thinking about making a post about all outfitting visual bugs we have without a fix so might be a good idea to do it now and then.

Well mention those while the devs are aware of this thread. Of the ones I own I only notice it on this Symphony of Blades pieces.

So I checked all of the arms packs I have - I don't have them all (since they're not exactly rotating...), but there are two I see that are definitely bugged.

Maw of the Infernal and Earthgore. Both have an ambient light for all weapons except the shield. Neither shield emits light.

Not all of the sets have an ambient light along with the particle effect - sets like Balorgh are just the particle effect with no light, but they're at least consistent. I actually didn't know Symphony was bugged since none of them had a light with the particle effect - granted I thought it was an odd design choice to not give those, of all sets, an ambient light as well, but at least they were all the same.

Nonetheless, I'm very happy to see they will be getting a light as well, and can't wait to use them. Hopefully Maw and Earthgore shields will also get the lights to match with the rest of those sets.

Would like to see the undyeable parts tied into one of the color slots as well. Unfortunately you don't find out about these things until after purchase.

Would have been nice of the Customer service rep to inform me of this bug before I got a refund...

Last time I talked to a Support person about a potential bug with a crown store item — a different item, and I was asking if it was bugged — Support told me they “have no contact with the devs” and “can’t tell me if there is a bug” with a crown store product.

So I really don’t think they were intentionally withholding info from you so much as just entirely ignorant. (That’s just a paraphrase of what they themselves said.)

Atleast we have confirmation it is a bug I guess. Guess we'll have to wait till the next release to get it fixed. If it's not fixed by then, then I guess it'll be gotten to in 2031 like most of the other sfx bugs waiting to be fixed... Sweet as

It is fixed at PTS. I think we should just wait next update :)

Sweet as, I'm reading through the patch notes now. Too bad there isn't a comprehensive list of bugfixes. Would quell a lot of unrest regarding current bugs seeing them marked as fixed on the PTB.

Oh is it? I didn't see it in the patch notes, but then I only looked at the PTS real quick right as it started with the PCNA copy. Can't check it unless we get another NA copy, but I know that the FoA patch never went back to PCNA until it went live.

If it is fixed, that's great news!

As it hasn’t yet been noted, it’s nowadays fixed also in live. Just wanted to come back to report that we got our ambient lighting. <3
