So I log in to find that Friends is still broken. A fundamental part of the game is still not working. What is wrong with you ZOS?

The poor Guilds will not be happy and really it is astonishing you let this get by you again.

Well give them some credit. It's not STILL broken. It's now broken in a new, completely different way!

No, it used to be broken in that it wasn't retrieving the data from the database at all - you could not see last zone, CP, alliance or anything of the offline people, and the timer defaulted to your own log-in time. Now you do see all the data and the timer does get some data too - it's different numbers on different people, not same default now. So it's getting the time from the database, it's just getting it wrong. It seems that it's in reverse now - people with longest offline time (I have a few friends who haven't logged on for years) have shortest 'last online'. It seems that it's counting the 'X months ago' not from current time now but from a different date in the past (1970 as the ultimate default I assume?). Say, I have someone on my friendlist last online 557 months ago, 1970+557/12=~1970+46.5=2016.5. That actually seems true. Meanwhile, if we take someone that I know logged on yesterday, he has a timer of 624 months ago, which is 1970+624/12=1970+52=2022. I'm a year off so maybe it's from 1969, but overall looks about right.

So basically, now the timer isn't fully defaulting to your log in time, it's counting the 'X months ago' as 'your time - their last log in time' but it thinks that 'your time' is somewhere in 1969 :p

It's actually fascinating to see in how many different random ways they manage to break things lol. For example, did you realize that with the previous version of friendlist you could stalk 'offline' people? The moment they logged on in offline mode, the game was able to properly retrieve their data and displayed it in your friendlist. So when among all that emptiness you suddenly saw someone offline, but with full data who didn't just log off during your game session...yup, he was hiding from you.
