Jubilee boxes - some feedback

I appreciate the event for what it is - but please could we tone down the amount of gold style motifs that are dropping. Nearly 90% of motifs are these things which have little or no use having been unlocked years ago, and really only good for giving away.

The least they could do is put a vendor value of 1g on them so I can essentially get rid of them faster. Destroying them is annoying and time consuming.

Theres been a lot of feedback about this, hopefully they listen and move older style pages etc. to the event ticket lady.

Not really fair for new players to have to spend their tickets in them though, maybe charge 100 gold a page or something.

Yeah - the event is supposed to be a celebration for all players - new and OLD. Instead they have become delete simulators and its not just this event. Its all of them.

I wouldnt want to complain about anything that's extra. But I was surprised to find that, even as a relatively new player - 16 months?- I had almost all of the golds except the imp champ ones already. And I had all the imp champ ones after just doing writs for two days. Something different / new always good

More generally, I think id say that, while i was excited about the event the first day, it's gotten old, fast. The tribunal event had everyone killing wb's all over morrowind. It was kind of fun and took all my characters up there. This event seems to have most peopel in my guild just doing writs endlessly. Im already burned out on it.

Was gonna post something about this myself, but I suppose this thread works just as well.

The ratio in which those supposedly rare and valuable GOLD tier items drop is ludicrous.

And sometime a box contains two of those ***. AARGH - they are essentially just instant delete fodder at this point. And confirming the throwing away of trash is getting really TEDIOUS!!

Besides, I had like 50 of them still sitting in my guild bank storage from last year. And those 50 were the lot I was left after I pruned all the utter garbage like Prophet pages. I was gonna try and sell them at some point, but they move so slowly, and at such a low price, that I get more gold from listing Intricate items I get from daily crafting writs.

Pretty much everyone who has played for more than a year already has them all, and those who do not will get them all before the event is done. There is little point in trying to sell them in guild vendors. Mostly they just sit and rot there taking the place of something that would actually sell.

And the same goes for the new ones added this year. I essentially had the full set after two days from just doing crafting writs. I've already trashed several. The hundred or so I'm bound to get before the end of this event are all going straight to DESTROY bin.

So for the love of all taht is good and pure, tone done their drop rates a bit,. And better yet, just toss the old ones (like the companion bits) into the event merchant or her assistant. You could place them in like 1000 gold RNG sacks of each style sold by the assistant. That way there was some market for the ones older players have squirreled away, and a way for newer players to get their sets without aggravating the living *** out of everyone.

I have been here since Beta and have the monkey to prove it.

I have had one dedicated crater this entire time. I do not have all of those styles. It is crazy but some of the content for getting all of those styles did not interest me. I hate grinding so I never did it. All of those old gold styles does benefit me. What you should be asking for is a new way for checking for the randomizing for opening boxes (doing those final dungeons, using keys) in which it checks if you have something, and if you do move to give something you do not have.

The result would be everyone opens up a box and gets something they did not have.

Please let us sell these piles and piles of style pages that are pretty much worthless.

I got all the imperial chapion styles on the first day.

By the second day I couldn't even sell them.

Now, I can't even give them away.

Let us sell them for jesuses sake.

    I'm in the same position.

My original character became my crafting bot, and he is still learning motifs. After all these years, events like this are very beneficial to me. I don't run 15 crafters every day through the dailies, just 2. This is also the first year in all this time that I have had the opportunity (due to isolation and lockdown) to take advantage of this event.

Since @ZOS_GinaBruno will probably be the only one to see this, thank you! There are still vets who appreciate what you guys do.

I get your point but not everyone has been playing ESO for years.
Since the free play event it's on, give those "worthless" style pages on zones chats. Newbies will appreciate them.

PS - Yes we should, at the very least, be able to stack the older style pages.

Agreed, came to make a post about the same thing.

I still have the gold style pages in my inventory on alts from the last event and they are unfortunately so common you can't make money selling them on guild traders, I can't give them to alts because they are account wide and they are given away at every single event so nobody events wants them for free.

And on top of that it takes forever to delete them and you can't even vendor them to a merchant. It's a shame because the anniversary event is my favourite event in ESO, I always look forward to it but this year I feel a bit deflated because I have every single style page 10x over and I haven't even been doing that many dailies. Please ZOS at least reduce the drop rate if you won't remove them entirely.

I don't care if its free. Technically everything is free except the time it takes for you to play the game.

If its hard to discard then its worse than free. Its junk and my time is valuable.

Yes, agreed. The style pages are VERY heavily weighted over other drops. For now, the easiest thing you can do is Mark as Junk, then delete all your Junk.

But they take bout 3 seconds to decon (on console, at least- there's no 'mark as junk' option, so you have to destroy one at a time)!! Hit decon -> wait 2 seconds for the "are you sure?" message -> finally destroy -> repeat

Say I get 10 boxes a day on 10 characters. I get those pages in probably 40% of the boxes, so that's 40 pages to decon, since I know them all at this point.

That's at least two minutes per day of destroy -> "aRe U sUrE?" -> "YES I'M SURE" -> wait two seconds -> finally gone!! That means I'll spent roughly half an hour over the course of the event deconning style pages.

Hardly a huge deal in the end, and I waste plenty of time doing other stuff, but it's somehow just SO annoying to have to wait the few seconds to decon stuff like that (the same goes for master writs.... yes, I'm sure I want to decon this writ for a prismatic glyph or triune necklace, thanks).

I guess I'll start joining trade guilds that I've developed grudges against (b/c they've tried to steal my guild's spot) and dumping the pages into their guild banks, bwahaha

I said it in another similar post, but I might as well add my two cents here too. I'm going to talk as someone who was a noob back in 2016, when I first joined ESO. The first time I played through the Jubilee festival there were no styles. Jubilee was the only place (aside from buying for super high prices in guild traders) where you could get the Worm Cult motifs. Not to mention back then I didn't have a clue of where motifs dropped, I was still trying to get my stuff together about how ESO worked. So this event, which I only did with three characters back then, dropped so many motifs I as a noob had no idea where they dropped overland, so I was really excited to get all those goodies.

Later the houses were introduced, and furnishing blueprints were inserted into the Jubilee boxes. That was awesome because I really enjoy playing The Sims ESO STYLE, so having more furniture I could craft was awesome. Then the styles came around and well, I liked the Sai Sahan one and I'm using it on my PvP char.

However, from my observations is that these things drop at ludicrous rates, to the point they're just stuffing our inventories with something that is account wide and essentially worthless. Even newer players admit they've completed most of the collections already, only three days into the event, and these have become more of a nuisance than anything else. The fact these can't be banked or stacked, considering the LIMITED inventory space, and the difficulty in deleting them makes the whole ordeal really frustrating.

I understand the game needs to be welcoming to newer players, but newer players are going to enjoy the motifs (real ones) as much as the style pages. In market practice it is cheaper to maintain a loyal customer than getting a new one, so they should really balance out catering to newer players while trying to please older players too. Make these stackable, bankable and lower their drop rate. I don't think it is that difficult.

All of you that are saying you still need the older styles, put your in game @ name and platform up and youll get more than you can ever use. I give them away in my guilds and in zone at this point because I already have 3 accounts with them learned and a guild bank filling up with even more extras

Style pages are purely cosmetic. As well as being account-wide. Nobody ever wants more than one of a given style page.

Motifs are actually useful. You can use them in master writs, and they're toon-specific so you can use more than one if you want.

I'm already sick of getting the style pages (and have got all the pages from this event). Motifs and recipes are far more fun.

Please - fewer gold style pages, more purple motifs!

it's a 3 seconds inconvenience. If you spend 8 hours to gather 300 boxes, out of which you got 100 gold motifs, you can spent 5 minutes typing destroy to them. Or mark them as junk, you can get rid of them without typing text. Or use addon to auto type it for you.

The team was super generous with the style page drop rate.

My characters are almost crushed under the weight of carrying style pages to the trash bin. The local charities (guild bank) are begging us to donate no more style pages. ;)

I have learned all of the style pages. I have tried giving them away in chat, and no one wants them. At this point I am deleting them as soon as I open the boxes.

ZOS, please consider a better solution. Put a 1 gold value on them, as suggested multiple times in this thread, so we console folks get rid of them quicker. On console, to delete we have to click on each one individually, wait for the 2 seconds are you sure, and click again to delete. Or give us a bulk delete.

Something can be free and also a bad design decision at the same time. I'm sure most people are happy to get their first set. It's the frequency of the drops combined with the annoyance of getting rid of them later and the fact that they don't stack and can't be banked.

Yes, it's free. But it also comes with a whole pile of clunkiness that isn't necessary and people are generally providing constructive feedback on how to improve the system in the future.

As much as you might want to complain about people moaning about free stuff, the cycle continues and we could rightfully complain about players moaning about others providing useful feedback that only appears to be moaning to those that aren't seeing the entire issue from multiple viewpoints.
