What are dailies? How many can we do?

I know what a daily is. But which quests are dailies and which are not?

For instance, I assume that the town quests in Cyrodiil are dailies, since there are only a certain number of them in a given town and after you do all of those quests you won't get any more in that town until the next day.

But what about scouting missions, or missions to capture a resource or keep? The bulletin boards have blue quest markers, yet you can just keep going back for more missions. Do you stop getting missions from a given board after you've completed a certain number?

I seem to recall hearing that we can do only a certain number of daily quests per day-- or more specifically, I seem to recall seeing forum threads where people were saying that ZOS should increase the number of dailies we can do each day, since more dailies keep getting added to the game as new zones are added.

How many dailies can we do on each character?

Look at quest markers, if it has a blue arrow it's a daily no matter PVE, pvp or crafting

Any quest that starts with a blue quest marker is a daily quest.

Maximum is 50 daily quest rewards per character i believe.

I do not have any first hand experience. So far I just been going by what I read, that is a 50 daily cap, and assuming it's all the blue marker quest that count like you thought as well.

    Blue quest markers
Max 50 /day / character (900 per account if you really are that keen - assuming max no. characters)

There is a recent 'guide' thread for the event or https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Repeatable_Quests lists the 400ish quests you can choose from

    P.S.
This is per server (so you couild do it twice on both NA & EU)

Some quests are repeatable, think the scouting and capturing quests count here and know the thief guild safe box robberies quests and the DB murder ones are not dailies as you can do unlimited numbers of them.
The dailies can only be done once a day however the Cyrodil town quests and the prologue dailies has multiple quests in an row.

Never reached the 50 limit, it tend to be easier to do quests on multiple alts.
say you have 10 alts and do the crafting quests well its 70 quests there.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Any quest with a blue arrow that you cannot repeat on the same day you turned it in.

So if the limit is 50 (I thought I remembered reading 48, so 50 sounds about right), do those 50 include any that you carry over from the day before?

For instance, if I do all 7 crafting writs today but don't turn them in until tomorrow after the anniversary event starts, do those 7 from today count toward the daily maximum of 50, or would I still get up to 50 dailies on Thursday plus whatever Wednesday dailies I waited until Thursday to turn in?

Count for the day turned in

Ah, thanks. I don't plan to do 50 dailies a day on each character; I was mainly just curious.

Aside from doing 7 crafting writs on each character-- which is a major part of my normal ESO play-- I was thinking that doing the town quests in Cyrodiil on my mains might be a good idea, along with doing as many scouting and resource missions as I can stand.

Not sure if scouting and resource missions count as they're repeatable.

Writs and town quest are quickest, assuming you're not fighting other players in towns.

Then all of the dailies in each DLC/chapter zone count.

From memory, fighters and mages guilds count, as well as undaunted. Mages and undaunted are farily quick and easy.

Pledges count too. But not very efficient as far as time goes, better off jumping on another character and doing something quicker usually.

The town dailies are in fact inherently quick, which is why at Jubilee every year, people end up running a lot of them, and inevitably someone will come along to try to farm what they see as easy kills. And thus forum complaints about pvpers in the towns are almost guaranteed.

@VaranisArano has made a great thread about all the daily quests that can be done and how to unlock them:

Yeah, that was what triggered my OP, because I wasn't sure about those in particular.

I know from firsthand experience that scouting, resource, and other alliance missions in Cyrodiil do give reward boxes during Midyear Mayhem, and the news announcement for the Anniversary event specifically mentions alliance missions, so I knew that they do count for this event.

But "dailies" seems like a somewhat ambiguous term to me, because my mind wants to interpret it to mean "once a day," yet you can do alliance missions in what seems like an unending repetition. In fact, I sometimes do a specific mission-- such as "scout Farragut mine"-- go turn it in, grab the next scouting mission, and it's the exact same mission-- "scout Farragut mine."

"Repeatable" seems like a less ambiguous term to me.

Anyway, blue quest marker = eligible for Anniversary reward box is good enough for me! :)
