Getting trolled by trolls...

How do you kill trolls.. esp those from around level 36 onwards.. the trolls at 36 and below seem to have an altogether different allotment of health...and armour rating.
Trolls at 38+ I can barely scratch them. Poison and Disease don't work, lightning doesn't seem to work well, ice doesn't work at all. Fire seems to work.. but you can't carry fire weapons all the time.. even weapons enchanted with unresistable damage are pretty useless.

mutharex✭✭✭✭✭Trolls regenerate health and if you don't use fire you'll need to really BURST. So kill them with other players or see if you can learn a fire skill0

✭✭Fire damage is their weakness. They regen health fairly quickly and you need to keep the pressure up. Fire damage will occasionally knock them down and stun them, though.Member of the Psijic Order PTS Group0 -

I was out killing mobs and thought ooh a troll - I'll kill that.
- First couple of shots it looks OK, his health goes down like you expect so you close in...
Dunno about fire damage but I discovered they're immune to knockdown from Crystal Shard.'Clever' sigs get old real fast - just like this one.0 -

✭✭Their most heavy hitting attacks are very choreographed and they are easy to avoid, at least. They're also 2 pip mobs so they're supposed to be fairly tough.
Also I gotta wonder why you're even killing them enough to warrant carrying a secondary weapon, lol. They're not used for much other than causing pain to travelers sometimes.Member of the Psijic Order PTS Group0 -
Mulk✭✭✭@Carde - did you ever play through Eastmarch or the Rift? There are a fair number of them. In Eastmarch, there is a town overrun with them that you need to kill for a quest.
Anyway, I tend to avoid them unless I really feel like killing them, but there are a fair few about in those areas.0 -

I've done pretty much every quest in the game, but to be fair I also used a lot of fire spells, so I guess I might be biased.

One of the Cyrodiil skyshards is in a dungeon full of trolls.Also I gotta wonder why you're even killing them enough to warrant carrying a secondary weapon, lol. They're not used for much other than causing pain to travelers sometimes.
Makes me glad for my 100+ damage 1H sword w/ fire enchant.

I thought it was fire, I was kinda testing them with other enchants and pretty much nothing works, except fire. Or zerg.. zerg works..0
