Are there any statistic regarding difficulty of pickpocketing and item quality chance

Even though the CP branch says it increase item quality we don't exactly have an idea by how much it increases it

Or for the matter actual number for anything that affect criminal activity item and the base % chance for each item quality either found in standart container, locked container and their lock difficulty NPC difficulty to steal from them

Prob works the same way Treasure Hunter does; bumps the tier of the container up by one.

I've been doing a lot of pickpocketing on two of my characters and have noticed NO change whatsoever in terms of what I get.

The case is still that the more I pickpocket, the higher the quality of the items becomes. I'll go do loops of the Illumination Academy and it's still the case that I start off by getting mostly white and green items, but as my inventory fills up with stolen stuff, the item quality goes up, and eventually I'm usually getting blue items and one or two purples.

Drops rates for the Vvardenfell motifs from NPCs and lock boxes seems exactly the same as well.

In other threads I'm seeing that the double node passive seems broken. I wonder if this is, too.

Honestly They should just release the numbers, put the default probability in the help>Justice tab

we have numbers for pretty much everything and anything but for stealing item

That's an awful idea considering that the majority of the player base do not understand statistics.

The double node passive is bugged, not broken. It does double nodes; it’s just that the chance of doubling seems to be somewhat less than the 50% advertised at cap.

From my experience on the PTS, I saw a noticeable increase of greens and blues dropping with Cutpurse’s Art than without it. But that’s anecdotal, and I wasn’t keeping any records. I definitely still got some white items with CA active, but it seemed to me that on average I was getting better quality drops more often. I haven’t tested it on live.

Bugged = broken here. People are reporting double node drops around 37% of the time.

I tested pickpocketing earlier. I only have a few hundred cases to go on, but this far the rates are very similar with and without the passive enabled. I'll gather more data and run some stats on it to see if the difference is significant, but the percentages for item quality looked eerily similar.

Cutpurse’s Art doesn't work at all = Bugged = Broken
    on live !!
There is no difference of drops with Cutpurse’s Art than without it.

CUTPURSE'S ART is not properly working

I’ve noticed that I cannot get hourglass plans to drop anymore on the Gold Coast. This has been the case since the CP changes. Have tried on multiple accounts and multiple characters. Someone with max legerdemain, some not, some with cutpurse’s art, some not. Same 3 NPC targets as before. Something got broken, I think.

I am a veteran thief. I can confirm investing CPs in this constellation means wasting 75 Champion Points. The loot is totally unchanged with or without "Cutpurse's Art"

Well, it took almost seven months for someone from ZOS to say they were going to look into the status of the issues with Plentiful Harvest even after all the hard data being presented on the forums and in support tickets. We were told just yesterday it “may take a bit of time” even to get an update on the status, much less an actual fix.

Cutpurse’s Art seems much less publicized here on the forums, though of course we can’t see how many /bug reports have been filed in game. I’d be very curious to see the data with CA vs. without it, as I think that would help show the devs and other players the extent of the issue, especially as CA doesn’t promise a specific numerical improvement. For what it’s worth, the new forum manager Kevin was the one looking into the status of the PH bug, so perhaps contacting him about CA might be worth it.

ETA: data would be useful to confirm or contradict reports like these:

Ran a quick test with CA slotted versus not slotted. Small sample size, but will keep testing.

140 items pickpocketed from Narwende and Veemarz in Vivec City, 70 with CA slotted and then 70 without. As far as I’m aware, looting their dead bodies does not count as pickpocketing, so this was only a record of items taken when the interact prompt was labeled “pickpocketing” on the screen (i.e. on living NPCs). Both NPCs can give more than three items before being “empty,” so I kept pickpocketing until they were empty.

My main is maxed in Legerdemain and Thieves Guild.

    With CA slotted, I got:

    12 white treasures (17.14%)
    41 green treasures (58.57%)
    15 blue treasures (21.43%)
    1 purple treasure (1.43%)
1 purple motif page (Hlaalu chests)
0 gold items or green/blue recipes
    0 mats of any kind

    With CA unslotted, I got:

    25 white treasures (35.7%)
    33 green treasures (47.1%)
    2 blue treasures (2.86%)
    1 purple treasure (1.43%)
    1 green recipe
    1 blue recipe
1 purple motif page (Hlaalu boots)
0 gold items of any kind
6 mats (3 scarab elytra, 2 raw bonemold resin, 1 wrought ferrofungus)

With 4/4 Haggling and Infamous slotted, the difference in value between the two sets of 70 pulls was 13,278 gold with CA slotted versus 8,524 without it. (That is counting fencing all the items, not the market value of the recipes or motifs.)

Again, small sample size, and I don’t make any claims that those percentages are the actual drop chances, just my observed drop rates. But that’s a pretty big difference in profits per run even in just 70 items. The most curious thing to me is actually that no mats dropped with CA slotted. Perhaps it prevents grey-colored items entirely? Can’t say for sure at this point.

You will need to be sure and pick the same types of NPCs through the entire process. Some NPCs have better drops than others.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."
