Regal Regalia Shield is too small...

I loved the preview of this shield but it's so small. A common issue with ESO's shield designs in my opinion. If you increased the shield by 25-50% in size alone it would drastically improve its quality overall. Too many shields are gimmicks at the idea of "Oh I can't wait to block the breath of a dragon with this!" Sorry mildly disappointed because the shield looks stellar it just is another too small shield. Also, the greatsword looks outstanding and as a sword form with the shield (that was larger in scale) would've been a 10/10

    Maybe it's a buckler?
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

my problem with most shields isn't their size...it's that they float too far from your block arm

My issue is they put straps on the damn shield for it to magically float and they wasted the time of adding a dye channel to the straps that aren't even used and agree with OP shields are too small they literally protect nothing. [Snip] where some shields are 3D have full details and others are a 2 dimensional peices of paper with a fancy pattern put on them and look like something from an early playstation 2 game.

exactly....what's the point in putting the straps there if the shield just floats and your arm doesn't even touch the straps

We have shields that are too small, yet weapons are all at least 1.5x larger than the size they should be.

I agree, a lot of the shield styles aren't very visually appealing. They made most shoulder and hip armor obnoxiously large and not even attached to our bodies, but forgot shields. Wish shields scaled to character size like mounts and armor do.

Also, "the breath of a dragon" is just a thu'um, they're not limited to just spicy breath. A shield capable of covering the entire body from aoe projectiles, and withstanding dragon fire up to 10,000F, would make a fantastic fus ro dah target. They can shout a lot of other stuff too, most of which will require much more than a 400lb full body shield to protecc you.

Perhaps they are aiming to reflect the role composition of the player base?

Outsize dps, itsy bitsy tank population.

Large shields regularly clip into my character's hair, helm, or head when strapped to the back. I have to make sure to choose a small shield design to avoid this.
So shields are not too small. They're too large when "sheathed".

Anyone notice the bow is slightly mismatched, having no white gem(s) like all the other weapons/shield? Instead it has two curved metal horn decorations on the quiver that isn't demonstrated on any of the others. Did they have someone design the bow that wasn't completely aware of the set scheme?
