I am sure that experience gain was capped at 180% or something like that. Ppl are talking on videos about gains over 350% is this correct?

    double xp, 10% eso+, 150% pot/scroll. gives 100%base+260% boost xp. or 3.6x

ring of mara is another 10%?
2 player group not even sure. 10%?
(are these 2 for kills only or even quest/writs turnin?)

full golded training gear is another 7x11% + 9% =86% on kills.

    never heard of a cap.

Ty I am aware of the exp boosters but there was a cap I am sure of it. Would just like confirmation of what it is now.

you sure its a cap and you simply didnt misunderstand?

for non-kills: 150 + 10 eso+, mara and duo each. is the 180% you have in mind. and not a cap. but the limit achievable outside 2x exp events for nonkills.

    simple enough to test.

kill mob with no boost. chug 150% pot and kill same mob again in training gear. 150+80% would exceed your "cap"..

Now its an cap for inspiration then leveling up crafting. if you are deconstructing cp 160 stuff as an lvl 1 crafter you will get the same xp for white and intricate items, something who is worth knowing leveling up jewelry crafting.
Think intricate only make sense past crafting level 35.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

Hmmm I remember that there was no point taking mythic during event as it exceeded the cap. I really wish I could find the post. It wasn’t about inspiration either I am sure.

if the cap were +180% i doubt 150 pots would sell as with training gear that would exceed it. and 100% pots would suffice.

Yh maybe 180 was cap and they increased it for that reason. Maybe that’s where I have that number from in my memory. Ty.

    Hi everyone,

When we pushed the anniversary event live last night, we discovered that the Jubilee Cake XP buff stacking was not working as we intended. We are currently testing a fix that, once implemented, will allow for the intended XP buff stacking so you can reach a total possible increase of 185%. We plan to roll out this fix tomorrow (4/5). We’ll provide the exact time tomorrow, and notify everyone when the hotfix is complete.

We will also be extending the ESO anniversary event by two days, so it will now end on Tuesday, April 12th at 8PM EDT.

In this post, you’ll find a brief explanation of how XP buff stacking works in ESO, how it is supposed to be working with the Jubilee Cake XP buff versus what is actually happening in-game right now, and what we’re doing to fix the current issue.

How XP Buff Stacking Works in ESO
In ESO, all XP buffs stack with each other, with the exception of Psijic Ambrosia and the Crown Experience Scroll. Not counting the Jubilee Cake, these are the different types of XP buffs currently in the game.
Alliance War Keep buff – 5% XP buff (applies only to monster and player-character kills)
Crown Experience Scroll – 50% XP buff (does not stack with Psijic Ambrosia)
ESO Plus – 10% XP buff
Grouping buff – 10% XP buff
Psijic Ambrosia – 50% XP buff (does not stack with Crown Experience Scroll)
Rings of Mara buff – 10% XP buff
Exploration Trait XP buff – Varies depending on how many armor pieces have the Trait (applies only to exploration XP)
It is currently possible to stack XP buffs for a total possible increase of 85% for most types of content. There is normally a cap in place that prevents any event (a quest completion, a monster kill, etc.) from granting more than 10% of your total level value. For the anniversary event, that cap was raised from 10% to 30%.

How the Jubilee Cake XP Buff Works
The Jubilee Cake buff for the ESO anniversary event should be stacking with the following XP buffs:
    Alliance War Keep buff
Crown Experience Scroll OR Psijic Ambrosia
    ESO Plus
    Grouping buff
    Rings of Mara buff
    Exploration Trait XP buff
With the Jubilee Cake buff, you should be getting an additional 100% plus the total possible 85% detailed above, for a grand total of 185%* as the highest possible XP buff increase during the anniversary event. That is not currently happening, though, and the percentage is capping out at 100%. We’re looking into why, as that is not intended.

Haha I found the (very old) post where I remembered the cap and 180% from. So I guess there is no cap now? And if there is it’s significantly higher than 185% ;)

Now they have the 100% and 150% scrolls they sell for real money, would be a bit weird if they did not work during double xp events who can give you over 300% xp, 100% event + 150% scroll + 10% eso + 10% duo + 80%? training gear.

Now i think its an cap on xp from quests, think I got less xp handing in main quest with double xp and xp scroll.
This might be an legacy from back then overland was leveled and they did not want people to do non combat quest way above their level for ton of xp.

I know but this has been an issue before with XP not being given and ppl not understanding there was/is a cap. I just would like confirmation I guess of what it is now, if indeed there still is one.

That old post doesn't make it sound like there was a cap even back then, it's just that at the time, 185 was the max achievable using all possible means.

    This 100%

There has never been a "cap" per se. It is just the number and magnitude of stackable sources of bonus xp gain has dramatically increased over time.

I am impressed that op was able to find this incredibly old post, but not do any research on whether there's an xp buff cap.

    Yes, the
"There is normally a cap in place that prevents any event (a quest completion, a monster kill, etc.) from granting more than 10% of your total level value."
Has not existed for an long time, the last 3 years its not uncommon to get multiple levels doing an random dungeon on a low level character during double xp events and a xp buff.
