Another useless change that wasn't hurting anyone... except the gamblers
I am the very model of a scientist Salarian, I've studied species Turian, Asari, and Batarian.
I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology) because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology).
My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian, I am the very model of a Scientist Salarian.

Hadran's Caravan had a huge population of NPCs that could be murdered for stolen goods. People were farming this for achievements and gold.

Yes great change, make a cool place less populated by npcs because some were using it as farming spot.

I learned about that place a long time ago! But I never once did it. Oh wow, I totally forgot it existed. A player showed me the area and said see all these neutral NPCs?!

I know people who made 5 Mio gold per week at that spot semi afk.
Guess it needed to be nerfed

I used the area once to get the Felonious Recompense achievement. A quick 20 minutes to get 100K bounty and then I left.

It was exploited a lot. I was there couple times for achievements and I remember how one group shout on me in chat to not kill NPC - they had own system and route to efficient kill all of them. Big numbers of NPC and zero immortal guards around in small area, you can image how much loot gives DOZENS of dead bodies every 2-3 minutes.

I remember coming across that place when I first started the game and was questing, baffled as to why there was just piles of corpses.

I happened to be in that area the other night because I'm questing through Reapers March on my PC EU main. I wondered why there were players farming the NPCs in that area; now I know.

Some of these comments make it clear that people do not actually understand what an exploit is.

An exploit would be if when you killed all the NPCs, you could start a quest and that would respawn them all back (which is not how it is supposed to work)

ZOS creating a zone with lots of NPCs that are killable is not an exploit.

The fact that they nerfed it says otherwise.

They are still killable. They just won't respawn as fast now.

By lowering respawn rate of those NPCs ZoS clearly shows it wasn't intended for them to be used as quick gold gain method. And using developer oversight in a adventageous way to make gold faster is an exploit.

The pickpocketing perk from green tree had influence on looting the dead bodies too. You had way, way more blue items. That probably made them think about nerfing it. That place exists for years and is known by so many players (and devs probably too). But they never had a reason to change something- till the cp change.

I really liked that area for the atmosphere and quests. If all the killing was so bad then they could've just added "guards" or made some npcs unkillable, instead of removing npcs ruining the look of the area.

    Apparently.

This isn't the first nerf. Ramimilk was a great place to kill NPCs.... nerfed. At-Tura Estate, same. Nerfed. Apparently ZOS would rather have folks farming dolmens, zombies, Skyreach, or other popular places instead. At least with the murder spots, there was a price to pay in having your characters forever tainted with millions of gold worth of bounties. At the other farming spots, no consequences.

Go play Connect Four with your CP instead every time you want to fish, sell, repair armor, deconstruct, etc. That seems to be ZOS' idea of fun.

If loot was a concern, then just make it so that they don't drop anything when killed. I know some people were using that place to grind solely exp because (surprise, surprise) everywhere else is full lol. Not everyone wants to do skyreach or dolmens and you can only do one normal random and bg per day.

One per character per day. 18 toons will get you quite a bit of xp and transmutes.

That's with the assumption that everyone has the time to make 18 characters and level each of those toons up to a point that is adequate for normal dungeons/bgs. Not a lot of people have the time to sit there for hours going through each toon on a normal random 18 times a day, each day of the week. Also, some dungeons take longer than others to get through. Not trying to say you're wrong, but just pointing out that it's unrealistic, especially for those who have jobs and other obligations but still want to keep up with the cp rat race.

Not to mention levelling from 1-50 doesn't contribute any XP to CP.
