Does Crit damage have a Cap or DR?

Title. Wondering whether Crit damage has diminishing returns or max cap.

My friend and I were going to try to get insane amounts of it just for fun (warhorn, senche, mundus etc.)

I do not believe there is a cap. Furthermore sources of crit damage are additive. I do not believe there are diminishing returns other than the fact that taking your crit damage modifier from 1.5 to 1.6 with, say, Minor Force is a bigger percentage gain than taking it from 1.9 to 2.0, because you're already stacking other sources of crit damage.

The problem with going for all out crit damage is that you're trading away crit % for some of that, for example by choosing axes over daggers, Senche over Leviathan, Shadow over Thief (absent Twice Born Star). In general I believe crit % has been more important for sustained PvE damage. For PvP burst, on the other hand, you can wear Mechanical Acuity (outside of current Cyro) and invest the rest into crit damage. Could be a good way to build stamblade, in fact.

Mechanical Acuity is precisely what we're trying it with. We're either going for Draugrkin (cause of the broken damage boost to DW spammable which I highly doubt is intended :D) or as mentioned senche. It's just to see where we can push the numbers. I had someone with a Warhorn earlier with me just sporting over 120% crit damage and even bulky tanks started to drop like flies which was very interesting.

    Thank you for clarifying. :)

Does it proc on each hit of flurry? O_O with mechanical that could be some insane burst.

I wonder if sweeping spam could make it work too, depending on how the dmg is calculated.

While acuity is active its pretty nice, but there's like 16 seconds afterwards where it does nothing. But I use it on my Nightblade, Shadow mundus adds 18% if you have gold armor in divines, 5 stacks of grim focus and morphs, nightblade hemorrhage passive, channeled acceleration prebuff. Two Cp stars. Aggressive warhorn. At some point each 10% crit damage adds like 4.5% damage to critting hits, which isn't bad while acuity is active if you can mop up fast.
