Please see this thread from General Discussion (I put it there to warn as many players as possible). There are others experiencing this same issue on PS4 NA and it is highly disruptive/disturbing. I have not seen if anyone on PC or XBox has this problem, but it has been present since Tuesday's update.

    Added this to your post in general as well, but the issue is happening on PC-NA too.

    Thank you for reporting it and posting it. I will ask guildmembers to report it in game when it happens to them.

    Update - please record the gaming IDs of people who say they got returned COD money from you. The first reply to my support ticket asked for that to look deeper into the specific interactions, so I gave roughly 5-6 guildmate names of people who specifically asked me why I returned their auction payment.

    Just happened to me. I sent a COD request and an item to another user, on PS4/NA. The game shows that I have mail, but nothing is there. They haven't received the item yet, either (we're in touch over whisper). We both ported to different maps, and nothing. Just happened at 5:30pm MST-Arizona

    A separate issue but to add to the confusion - the bizarre error message screen when taking some mail attachments. The first time it happened to me was taking attachments off a mail that had been sent to me prior to the update, so I assumed the problem was related to that in-between kinda timeframe.

    Not the case.

    A friend mailed me a bunch of blue furniture plans to stick in the guild bank for our next auction. Every. Single. One. Of the not-small number of mails went through this error. I'll try and post a screenshot up, but you take attachments (normal mail, no COD on it) and some error box pops up with scripting language gobbledy-***. I have to hit X to dismiss several times before the box finally goes away. After which, you see the first attachment in your inventory, but none of the others (though your inventory space number shows the right amount).

    The ONLY way to then make those phantom items in your inventory that are there but can't be seen is to re-log. You can't force them to show with a reloadui command in the chat box. You can't force them to show by changing maps, like leaving/re-entering a house you own or an Outlaw Refuge (I tried both). You literally have to log out of your character, then back in to your character and now, magically, you can see all 6 attachments you took instead of just one.

    Also, just FYI that now it looks like support will NOT help you get the COD money you were owed and never received. This is the excuse I just got on my support ticket:

    I am very grateful to my honest guildmates who sent me what I was owed so that I wouldn't be out 1 million gold with zero recourse to retrieve it thanks to this bug.

    I’d be responding to that ticket with a statement that that response is unacceptable and needs to be escalated.

    They need to take responsibility for their bugs. If they don’t want to take the gold from someone who shouldn’t have had it in the first place, which amounts to protecting an exploit, then the least they can do is send you the gold you’re owed. It’s not like they have to mint more.

    Had guildmates not been honest, I'd be out 1 million gold thanks to THEIR bug and their response is basically "sorry, can't help you". After consistently playing since about 4-6 months after launch, paying ESO+ for years, buying every chapter, pre-ordering Blackwood, spending more than I should in the Crown Store, bringing in an IRL friend last month who instantly did a one-year ESO+ sub with another close to joining as well. And I'm basically told "sorry, screw you, have a great day".

    I wasn't asking or expecting them to suck gold out of people, especially after folks started to respond to me quicker than ZOS did when I originally submitted the ticket, but to not even be like "So, you said your guildmates have started sending the payments in. Are you whole again or what amount are you still short by?" If they even have to ask, since they HAVE THE LOGS that track all this. Just the offer or concern would've been cool? Or even just don't reply anymore beyond "Sorry this happened, we're escalating this bug to management". But to come back and specifically be like "Yeah, not helping you, bye".

    I'm trying not to honestly feel personally insulted by that on some level, but it's super poopy treatment.

    Oh, man, it gets better!

    So, be forewarned yet again - if you lose items or money from this COD glitch, customer support will NOT help you.

    I feel incredibly valued as a customer right now, this is awesome. I've never had such warm, fuzzy, bubbly feelings in my life.
