Make mounts & pets farmable

Title. Make all mounts and pets that you have up on the crown shop farmable in game. There's zero reason why we shouldn't be able to.

If you want to keep the loot box ones behind that model, fine, but make the other mounts/pets farmable.

Wait what? This makes no sense. It’s optional cosmetic DLC. Serves no purpose. Be glad you got two years of Indriks and a free Ebon Dwarven Wolf.

Zero reason except making money off purely cosmetic items.

Do you have all the farmable mounts/pets in game yet?

They kinda are. Gold is farmable, and gifting crown items made it possible to exchange gold for any mount or pet you like in the store...

No, I'm not saying a workaround.

I'm saying very simply, take the mounts/pets....in the crown shop...less the ones behind the loot boxes....and put them in game so that we can farm them like every other MMO.

Every single one of those base models should be farmable in game. If they want to make extra premium skins like the cool ones behind the boxes that's fine.

But to lock 90% of that content behind the cash shop is gross.

All of them? No, definitely not. But it would be nice if you could buy at least one zone suiting default/simple mount at the stables. Like a guar in Morrowind zones, a senche near and in Elsweyr etc.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

I'm ok with that only if the drop rate is lower than in crates.

We will have to wait and see if Microsoft makes that change now that they own ZOS. Per the Xbox Game Studios Loot Box Policies "All items available through paid loot boxes in our games will also be available through unpaid opportunity by gameplay (i.e. grinding)."

Farming gold and giving it to someone in exchange for their word that they will gift you a crown item puts folks at risk for being cheated out of their gold if the other person never gifts them the crown item. I know folks on console that have gotten cheated trying to exchange gold for crown items.

This wouldn't be fair to whales and others who spend a lot of £ to get these items. Like people have said it's purely cosmetic and some of those mounts are currently priced at 2,500 gems.

lol I'm sure after all this time of overcharging for mounts that they'll see this and suddenly realize 'hey let's make them free by farming' :p

Except if a game was created before this policy was put in place, which ESO was.

OP give me some justification for doing so, aside from just " like every other MMO" or because you think "it's gross".

I'm pretty sure they aren't going to take money making crown store items and just turn them out for free.

I mean I agree but for context a elk mount costs like $30. Their primary revenue gen is the predatory cash shop / gambling board.

I'm 100% in agreement that all content in the game should be available outside of the cash shop.

Major expansions should still retain the $40-79 cost because that's a proven industry standard.

Either crowns themselves or the items directly should be earnable in game.

But then they couldn't exploit certain people's addictions for income.

Although I feel like the people willing to grind for a mount and the people that will pay $30 for a model created in 2016 are a very different group of people.

Seriously? Every other MMORPG has mounts and pets available to earn in game. Even the biggest Asia grinder. Only in ESO the only source for mounts is the Crown Store or the Indrik-style farming.

WoW gets more mounts in a content patch than ESO in its entire lifetime (and ESO mounts besides the radiant apex are just reskins with armor attached to them, so not even creative).

This is one of the biggest scams in my opinion, that you can earn basically nothing in game when it comes to cosmetics, mounts and such and have to spend money for some variety.

I‘m not saying every Crown Store mount should be earnable in game, but why is there no Senche, no Wolf, no Bear mount people can work for in game (not talking about those super rare hard mode trial mounts)?

I'm pretty sure that "wanting to earn money" is a valid reason.

And also "unfair to everyone who previously paid $ for them."

Now, adding new mounts to the game, that people can earn in-game? Sure, sounds good.

(also, with crown gifting, you can "farm" all the crown store mounts. Do stuff to earn enough gold to buy it from another player.)

Kind of prefer to have cosmetics in crown store and farmable armors and weapons instead of opposite.
Once in a blue moon we have some new pet or mount in game either as achievement or farmable.
And there is crowns for gold and twich drops as another option.
