Will unanswered COD mails be deleted after 30 days?

Since the new update, all mails will be deleted 30 days after receiving them.
My question is, will COD mails also be deleted after 30 days? If so, recipients could basically delete all items you send them via COD at will by leaving the mail unopened and waiting 30 days, which certainly does not seem like it would be intended.
And before anyone says COD mails will be returned after 3 days: That is only the case if the mail is opened, if it stays unopened, it will be returned after 30 days (or atleast that was the case in previous patches I believe), which begs the question if it will be destroyed.

✭✭✭✭✭If unopened COD mail gets auto deleted, that seems to be a terrible way to grief other players. Hopefully, ZOS looks into this before the first 30 days after the patch and just doesn't "hope" it all works out.3 -
hartzfear✭✭How can it be confirmed that this it actually does get deleted? The patch is not 30 days old yet.
If it does actually get deleted that seems like a huge oversight in the changes of the mail system4 -

✭✭✭✭✭COD mails used to expire after 30 days before the change too. The contents were then sent back to the original sender.
I sure hope ZOS thought of that and the mail isn't deleted before it expires.This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.2
