Was this perk changed to mean "When you loot a treasure chest, you will acquire more units of low quality items per chest"? It used to be "When you loot a treasure chest, you have a greater chance to acquire a higher quality item".
I can't really see acquiring more of the low quality items (a green Rubedo Guards and a blue Ruby Ash Bow in the same chest for instance) as a perk, compared to acquiring one high quality item (purple Inferno Staff of a Mother's Sorrow for instance).

Pre Update 29, it moved you one step up on the loot table. So simple chests would get the green/blue loot, with a chance at a set piece. And so on. If you want a guaranteed purple item, you needed to be opening Advanced and Master chests, pre-Update 29.2 -

✭✭✭✭✭Is there a character level to that Varanis? I opened two advanced chests today - first: one of my 50s - did not get purple, and even the gold was less than 200; second, on a total newbie (level 15) - got less than 50 gold, and a green whatever.
In fact, chests have been very wonky for me for at least a month now. Probably just RNG though.0 -

IIRC, pre-Update 29, Advanced Chests dropped blue without Treasure Hunter and drop one purple quality gear with Treasure Hunter.
As for your experience, I haven't looted enough chests post-Update 29 to say for certain it's the same improvement. Advanced chests dropping just green quality sounds odd. I'll try to pay closer attention on my next farming run.
This might be silly, but I would suggest double checking that you'd slotted Treasure Hunter? I've had some issues with stuff I could swear I slotted not being confirmed or something.2 -

There is a cooldown added last minute and not in the release notes where if you change and confirm the slotted CP twice within 30 seconds (easy to do) then the second one is ignored with an obscure message in the top right corner nobody notices. So if you flip one, then confirm then change your mind, or remember a second one it gets lost.
