Starlight talks about the group healing morph, not the self heal.

Just confused because I didnt see patch notes mention either. I also dont have the update yet to look at them.
What exactly is your total crit chance reduced by since the patch?
If it's like 10% maybe not worthwhile, though it gives a good damage buff so you don't need so many potions. If you're still rocking like 50% crit chance it should be OK as 'free' extra healing to the group.

I use crit surge even on sorc healers.
Well, compared to illustrious healing, pretty much every class healing skill is bad. When I'm healing a dungeon that is easy enough so that it's not worth to use the good pots, I rarely use my class heals, no matter what class I play. No it won't anymore.
Here's an idea. Cp passive and light amour moves you now from 14 to 17 percent 🤣.
It's ridiculously to expect to have major Prophecy up all the time when the class doesn't have a built in skill for it. You could slot inner light but then sorc is already got bar space problem. Then mind you cool down still exists and actually has to heal someone for it it go work too.
I suppose you could say use pots go but still would not fix problem healing springs is far better and it couldn't relay on chance or cost.
The skill is trash compared to other aoe healing skills and worst yet it's one of only two healing skills sorc gots for group.
The skill need needs built in critical as a fix at this point. In fact might vas well give group spell critical as sorc is behind all other classes in group utility.
At last nice try but skill still stands as most definitely trash.

And in a fight where the group takes constant damage and can't stack, I acutally see some advantages for power surge compared to some of the other classes.
But don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to see a buff to power surge. I just prefer to think about ways to find some use in a skill instead of calling it trash.

Now it is way harder to actually get a decent critical chance and all crits-based conditions have diminished meaning. The only environment you can probably have a decent crit chance is Trial gruop (group buffs).
Anyway, it is not only skills like this that got a "non direct" nerf. NB for example is a "crit" class in general and it benefits a lot from dealing crit dmg... and guess how much they gonna benefit if decent crit chance is too hard to get...
