Like 14 percent base chance at 3k heal with a cool down of 3 seconds while healing springs is 2k heal every second with no cool down.

    Just confused because I didnt see patch notes mention either. I also dont have the update yet to look at them.

    The only real change is the fact that crit chance is down across the board. The change affects Power Surge more than other skills because it's procced by crit healing.

    What exactly is your total crit chance reduced by since the patch?

    If it's like 10% maybe not worthwhile, though it gives a good damage buff so you don't need so many potions. If you're still rocking like 50% crit chance it should be OK as 'free' extra healing to the group.

    Power Surge isn't just "free extra healing" for Sorc healers, it's their only class HoT. Healers also can't generally run Mother's Sorrow like DPS, so their crit chance is already on the low side.

If you send an energy orb through the group the chance to proc power surge is >99%. So in group content you will still proc it pretty much on cooldown.

    The only thing I'd critizise about it is the scaling. Unlike other class hots like braided tether refreshing path or extended ritual it doesn't benefit from the increased spell damage we healers have this patch.

    1) Many people heal in dungeons, where hitting 5+ players with a heal is impossible.
    2) Not everyone has major prophecy all the time (especially in things like dungeons, where the return on investment doesn't justify chugging expensive potions on cooldown).
    3) Power Surge doesn't proc from healing people who are already at 100% health, which drives the proc chance per second way down.

    😂 No way 17 percent with cp. It's 26 with thief. Still not even worth it as 1 in 5 chance.

    Here's an idea. Cp passive and light amour moves you now from 14 to 17 percent 🤣.

    It's ridiculously to expect to have major Prophecy up all the time when the class doesn't have a built in skill for it. You could slot inner light but then sorc is already got bar space problem. Then mind you cool down still exists and actually has to heal someone for it it go work too.

    I suppose you could say use pots go but still would not fix problem healing springs is far better and it couldn't relay on chance or cost.

    The skill is trash compared to other aoe healing skills and worst yet it's one of only two healing skills sorc gots for group.

    The skill need needs built in critical as a fix at this point. In fact might vas well give group spell critical as sorc is behind all other classes in group utility.

    At last nice try but skill still stands as most definitely trash.

    This skill takes benefit from high crit chance, as it procs of critical healing (or dmg in case of other morph).

    Now it is way harder to actually get a decent critical chance and all crits-based conditions have diminished meaning. The only environment you can probably have a decent crit chance is Trial gruop (group buffs).

    Anyway, it is not only skills like this that got a "non direct" nerf. NB for example is a "crit" class in general and it benefits a lot from dealing crit dmg... and guess how much they gonna benefit if decent crit chance is too hard to get... :#

    I've almost never healed content where HPS was a significant consideration. Emergency heals and buffs/debuffs both take priority for me in healing builds over HoTs, except to the extent that I need HoTs to proc Spell Power Cure and Earthgore.

    And Earthgore is more of luxury than anything else. If I ran trials, got mysef some Olorime, and healed a group that actually used the Olorime proc reliably, I might not run a HoT at all.

    Here's an idea. Cp passive and light amour moves you now from 14 to 17 percent 🤣.

    It's ridiculously to expect to have major Prophecy up all the time when the class doesn't have a built in skill for it. You could slot inner light but then sorc is already got bar space problem. Then mind you cool down still exists and actually has to heal someone for it it go work too.

    I suppose you could say use pots go but still would not fix problem healing springs is far better and it couldn't relay on chance or cost.

    The skill is trash compared to other aoe healing skills and worst yet it's one of only two healing skills sorc gots for group.

    The skill need needs built in critical as a fix at this point. In fact might vas well give group spell critical as sorc is behind all other classes in group utility.

    At last nice try but skill still stands as most definitely trash.

    Well, compared to illustrious healing, pretty much every class healing skill is bad. When I'm healing a dungeon that is easy enough so that it's not worth to use the good pots, I rarely use my class heals, no matter what class I play. Only exeption might be extended ritual for the purify synergy on a templar.
    And in a fight where the group takes constant damage and can't stack, I acutally see some advantages for power surge compared to some of the other classes.

    But don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to see a buff to power surge. I just prefer to think about ways to find some use in a skill instead of calling it trash.

    I agree that illustrious healing isn't a great point of comparison.

    My main issue with Power Surge is that it was already reasonably well balanced a couple of patches ago, and it's been hit particularly hard by several recent changes (that appear to have been intended for other purposes). In addition to all of the crit nerfs, it also used to proc off of Minor Lifesteal ticks if you ran Siphon Spirit or Overflowing Altar. Now, not only are heals less likely to crit, but there are also fewer crit opportunities, making Power Surge a lot less reliable than it used to be.

    Worst yet is there's still better skills to use in trials like springs

    That's my point they destroyed that. It's no longer balanced
