There are some really GOOD people out there!

Last night I finally got into Scalecaller...normal mode just to see how the thing worked. In our group we had a very knowledgeable player who knew the ins and outs and mechanics of the dungeon. Seeing my comment in group chat of "I'll probably never get the helmet", this awesome person not only stuck with me after the normal dungeon, but queued up with me and literally walked myself and the rest of the group through the vet dungeon! He/she (like it matters right!) spent almost 2 hours..and a lot of dying, to a successful end and helmet in hand :)

This next part of this post might seem.... a little fruit and nut/Kumbaya/group hug moment, but bare with me:

I dunno about you folks, but in the pandemic age I just don't interact with people IRL much. So....it's rare I get to show generosity and sacrifice my time or resources...so I try and accomplish this in game. I implore folks...show as much kindness as you can...like our Scalecaller benefactor did. Run dungeons to help folks for free....give away stuff instead of needing a trade or gold...take that extra few minutes and port that person in the zone chat where they wanna go.

It WILL and DOES make a difference. Thank you!!!!

I can totally agree! Last week I finally got my savage werewolf 'legs' from the moon hunter keep.

After several tries i met three players from another guild. At the start i told them, i would pay them 10k if they wouldn't need this piece for themselves. As we finished one of them offered it for free. I didn't want to accept and wanted to give her/him 25k instead. The other two players wrote, that they don't want to make money with it, and this really warmed my heart. I still gave them 10k, but only because I wanted to.

I'm now proud owner of this pants

Thank you, if you read this! (It was on the xbox eu server)

I wish you all a nice weekend!

That's awesome! I try to do things like that as often as I can as well- pay it forward an all. People are so grateful and happy and I think a little kindness can make a huge difference, especially in these difficult times.

Where do you people find these kind hearts? I always get grouped with people that never speak regardless of content or are incredibly hostile. I stopped queuing dungeons altogether cause of it o.O now I only farm what I can solo, and if I need some vet stuff I either just give up on it or wait for golden vendor.

Same goes for guilds (I've probably been in 50 different guilds now). Noone ever speaks or responds let alone helps me with anything. o.O Raids/Trials are always toxic and demanding too.

I'm baffled how people even make friends in this game anymore. I've not made a friend for 3 years now. All the people on my friend list are peeps I've known longer than that.

I'm a big pay it forward person as well. A good friend IRL got me into this game, and helped me out so much with gear and gold. So once a quarter or so, I see who I can help out in return.

It's a lot of fun - crafting gear, giving a new person gold, passing along motifs or whatever.

The dungeon finder has gotten progressively worse over the past few years- people always used to at least say hi and now everyone blasts ahead. I'll admit that I've kind of given up saying anything most of the time, since there's not usually the chance to because we take off running.

I'm on PC/NA and am more than happy to run vet stuff with you! I'm also in a few of the most fantastic guilds that are extremely active- lots of chatter, active Discords, utterly fantastic people, and amazing retention. I would be happy to get you the names (not sure if it's allowed on the forums) of the guilds if you'd like!

Regardless, feel free to shoot me a PM and I can get a group together to run whatever vet stuff you need.

That's a really nice story OP - I'm glad for you and the fact that there's still people like that.

When I first started Tanking I used to be the guy in who would come to people's aid in guild chat, and would stay 2-3 hours to help get groups through content. I helped many groups through content they frankly wasn't ready for when they qued up.

Then I started to notice more and more people would que up for content they wasn't ready for ESPECIALLY after Graymoor. That chapter brought in a lot of new players and returning players to dungeons. And soon it was every other group with low damage, running ahead to pull left-right and center and just a bad attitude. Not even a "Thank you" anymore for sticking around. They would take your patience for granted.

Then I noticed when I needed to learn myself people just bailed or were rude.. Sometimes it was extremely uncomfortable.

I'm not a patient Tank player anymore. I'm not rude but I will not stay 1-4 hours to get people through content anymore with my PUG groups.

I want to point out people should still be paided like crafters. It becomes something different when people expect it. Kindness is good but not to the point of using others

That's a fair point @Starlight_Whisper ...and I completely understand people expecting and not showing courtesy....VERY tough to be kind to jerks ;)

I will add....for myself at least...I don't want other's lack of courtesy to impact my own generosity. Food for thought :)

It's the way original post was worded at the end. Sounded like they wanted to use people. "Give" is the content sounds like a command. Likely not the original intent, but wording definitely can bemisinterpreted.

Ah....I was really thinking more like...at the end of a dungeon/trial run. I see a ton of folks with the "here you need this? take it" mentality which is just awesome..just giving that stuff away. But I do see others..."you want this inferno staff? 50K gold". Which is their choice to be sure! It's just interesting to see where people's heads are at sometimes :)
