here's a wild hunch...what if the house is part of the new pet morph

Its far more likely Kushalite Sanctuary (which is on preview on the PTS right now) will be the pet morph house than Stone Eagle, but even that is just a guess.

In that case I'll forgive them all. Seriously I mean it. Stone Eagle is pretty much my dream house so if I could get it "for free" I'd be overjoyed.

It's incredibly, INCREDIBLY unlikely that the morph house is either of them. Considering the house is coming at the end of 2021, it won't even be added to the game files, even on PTS, for another 6 months or so.

Not at all trying to be negative or hate on anything, but what has people so excited for Stone Eagle? It looks really nice, but I feel like I might be missing something.

Edit: Okay, just saw it has a direct exit to the outlaw's refuge, that's really cool.

    1. It's a Dwemer style house, the only other one is Frostvault chasm which is a hit or a miss for people. Observatory Prior half counts, but it's layout is awkward to work with. Stillwater's too, but it's selling point is the outside.

    2. It's in the new Dwemer style, which is white and gold. It's far more pleasing to the eye than the brass we're used to. And it's colour scheme allows for more furniture matching.

    3. It's the only house in The Reach which is a selling point in itself, and like you said it has direct access to an outlaws refuge which is another unique feature.

    4. it's layout is one of the best we've ever gotten in a notable home. You are easily able to block off rooms you do not like *cough cough * unlike Bastion, so it's a very approachable to people.

I could sit here and list off more reasons, it is a very nice house and should be the benchmark standard for any future houses.

Can't speak for anybody else, but being a Dwemer manor in Markarth has a lot to do with its appeal for me. Owning Vlindrel Hall in Skyrim, and being able to call one corner of this magnificent fortified Dwemer city your own was a great and unique housing option.

For the longest time, ESO had no Dwemer house at all, even though the Dwemer style and Dwemer furniture have been part of Homestead since its launch. Then, we got two sad platforms in an ice cave (Frostvault Chasm), and an empty ice lake with a tiny Dwemer building (Stillwaters Retreat)... none of which fulfilled that niche of a proper Dwemer homestead.

And then... Markarth got released, and we saw that we'd get the zone and the city, and also a whole lot of Dwemer furnishings and a Dwemer house to go with it. But... they didn't release the house. We waited, for months and months, but the glorious Dwemer dream wasn't delivered upon. We played through Markarth, and we're so over the content at this point that it's just old news. And now, this is the time, finally, that they decide to release it. Which is far too late for no reason in most people's eyes, but at least its here!

So that's why it may have seemed like there was a lot of anticipation for Stone Eagle on the forums  Kinda like when they held on to Bastion after Greymoor and that was all people could ask about in threads and housing livestreams.

My hype is still alive, but only barely. If it had been another month late would be a big nope. I am less eager to start decorating this the decorations will be insanely expensive and some haven't even gone live yet.

I bought most available things already; I recommend you do too if you can (or wait after the initial excitement dies down). After Graymoor came out, Vampire furniture were going for 15-20k-ish. When Bastion got released, you saw them going (as in actually selling, not just listing) for up to 100k, since everyone was scrambling to get their stuff from the traders. Luckily I had already bought a whole set of Vampire tables, chairs, etc shortly after Graymoor came out and I avoided that high-demand-low-supply week... but I was in a Mournhold/Belkarth guild and I saw the prices going literally nuts.

I imagine the same thing will happen when Stone Eagle hits the store and all the people suddenly want to furnish their Dwemer house at the same time. So, good luck to everyone!

For me it brings back really good feelings from playing Skyrim. I made markarth my hub and even modded it to have a bigger home. So I was sold from the get go. Also like some have said the dwemer style is few and far between.

Blue Markarth Dwarven plan prices are cheap, but the purples are already outrageous on PS4/NA, most going for at least 500k and up to 2 million gold.

I farm the plans every day, multiple times a day and I’ve only found maybe 3-4 purple plans so far.

It has a very nice layout and "built-in" features such as the water works and the outlaw access. What I find discomforting are the comments praising the layout because "it'll be easy to block off parts of it" - which is understandable, but perhaps we should critique this approach instead of praising it, especially since ZOS has announced a server upgrade and two new gargantuan houses that won't be nearly as easy to close off. It's time to do something about the furnishing limit, designing layouts to be easily blockable is a goofy patch, not a solution, and the new ones won't even have that possibility, especially not the Ayleid ruins one. Maybe you could close off the portals in the volcano one but it's so much of an open space it's bound to look barren anyway.

If you own the house it should take you into the outlaw refuge. If you are previewing the house then it will take you back to where you were when you entered.

Can someone tell me why the dwarven elevator behind the waterfall in the south side of the main interior of Stone Eagle Aerie takes you out the front door of the house. Am I missing something? I would imagine it should take you out into Blackreach.

If you own the house it should take you into the outlaw refuge. If you are previewing the house then it will take you back to where you were when you entered.

    Ah, OK. Cool. Thanks.
