What's "usual" for weekly guild fees?

I'm in a guild (which I'm about to leave) that started out 15K a week fee. Then it went up to 25K. Now it's 40K. The only thing I do is sell/buy on this guild. Is this normal?

I think ~20K is pretty normal & reasonable. On PC/NA, that's what the trade guilds I've been in (in the past, now I'm in ones with 0 dues) asked; and those held top-tier trader spots (Rawl'kha & Mournhold) every week. This was a couple years ago now, though; not sure how costs have changed since.

40K sounds like a bit much, but I can see it being necessary if the guild is struggling and they're fighting to keep hold of these top-tier trader spots. If the guild isn't generating enough gold through sales, the alternative is to source it from members, unfortunately.

Highly dependent on platform and server, OP.

PC seems to have a mixed system where a seller is expected to make X in sales weekly and if they fall under that, then there's a due to pay. This is because their mods allow them to monitor individual sales in a manner that console cannot.

I imagine XBox is similar to PS4 (my system) in that, for guilds that charge dues (largely capital city guilds), the average capital city trading guild is still around 10-15k weekly dues on PS4 NA, the last I had heard. I'm not in any, as I run a donation-based non-dues-demanding guild and am fortunate to be in 3 others who operate the same way. My guild is regularly in Alinor (Vivec this week for the event); one usually flops between Wayrest, Vivec, and Rimmen; another usually cycles between Rimmen and Solitude with occasional Wayrest visits; and the last is always in Craglorn, though there have been some weeks where they went without a trader due to competitive bidding.

At any rate, no matter the platform or server, going from X amount in dues to a rapidly increasing dues structure in a short timeframe sounds odd. Any time I've heard about dues increases on PS4 NA, it's usually something announced in advanced and like a one time thing, such as moving from 10k to 15k weekly.

$40k seems absolutely insane to me, but I guess it depends in part on how much you actually make in sales per week. I would think of it as a percentage: what percentage of your weekly income are you willing to give up? This is a very personal question, and only you know the answer, but I think one pretty obvious answer is, if the dues are more than your average weekly income, it's too much. OTOH, if you're selling hundreds of thousands in a typical week, and you feel like your dues are going to such a great trader that it really makes a difference, then maybe it's worth it to you?

Personally, I have the full number of guilds on both servers, and I don't pay weekly dues for any of them. They all have traders, albeit not premium ones, and I'm able to sell pretty much everything I want to sell at prices I can live with. I'm not making crazy sums of money, but I'm clearing out my inventory and making a steady trickle of passive income, so that works out well for what I personally want.

I was previously in one guild that was initially free, and then decided to implement a weekly dues system after a new GM took over. After scooping up everyone's money for a few weeks, they kicked out most of the members for being "inactive for more than a week." (I personally was kicked out after not adding items for 7 days and like, two hours... I usually play on the weekends, but logged in a little later that Saturday than I normally do.) Anyway, sales had already gone down dramatically during those few weeks, even for someone as casual as me, despite moving to an allegedly better trader (the reason given for the new dues). So it was no loss, and I quickly found a new guild with no dues or weekly requirements where my sales have been significantly higher.

So I guess I would say, unless you are particularly attached to the other members in a particular guild, or you are very happy with the sales results you are getting, it is usually worth looking around to see what your options are.

Ya...I'l be leaving it when I play later today. I only found it using Tamriel Trade Center when I was looking for an item. As long as I can sell...and I didn't know you could buy from ANY guild at their trading post I'm good. Thank you!

Is it a 40k fee, or a quota to sell for 40K? Because if it's the latter it's bonkers, but a quota for 40k isn't that weird.

Fees and stuff vary between platforms a lot, and also if you're looking for something casual or a trading guild that goes for the top traders.

I'm in two trade guilds, one asks for 6k contribution per week (a combination of taxes on your sales, raffle tickets or auction contributions).

The other one I really don't know, but I buy 10k in raffle tickets each week.

For the 4 Guilds I am in, my total weekly dues amount to, 0.

And, I sell everything I list. Only two of my guilds have active stores. One guild gets a Kiosk on an almost weekly basis, the other one gets one sporadically.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The main trader spot in Auridon is Skywatch, not Vulkhel Guard.

As for the thread question, my guilds range from 0 to sell for 100k per week. Nothing hard to do.

I have 1 trade guild in a prime spot, same spot every week for years, and their dues are 7k or 100k in sales.

I sell 750k without really trying and have had 2million weeks as well.

Rawlmart, auction house, silk road and INGH. Have no sales minimum. Just an inactive policy.

PC-NA here... have been in a few guilds depending on my needs. For me, location is critical because I flip mats from outpost locations into cities so whatever requirements they have are absolutely fine. My "toughest" guild is 15k in total contribution (can be a combination of straight gold, taxes, or prizes) - this is honestly a JOKE compared to what you are getting. My taxes alone rack up to 100k+ and I regularly throw some gold in too because bids are expensive. My next two are basically "do something" guilds where you have to put in some sum of money whether it is 1k or more just to show that you have a pulse and still care. Then there's the social guild I run that has a trader which is where most of my profits get funneled towards due to the stupid prices of these things lol. I don't personally require sales from my members because we are NOT a trading guild (just happen to hold one for 1+ years) but this means that 50% or more of the cost of this trader falls on myself and my officers which kinda sucks after awhile :)
