why can't a vampire feed on a hag?

✭✭✭✭✭It's a mechanical reason. The feed mechanic is essentially a reskinned blade of woe (as evidenced by me getting the wrong feeding animation today through a bug). It's coded so it can only work against humanoid enemies because they can't make custom animations for every type of enemy that exists that you could in theory also feed on.
The lore is quite clear that vampires can feed on pretty much anything that has blood. Animals work too, but the vampires in question stated that it's "just not the same" or doesn't taste as good or doesn't sate the way humanoid blood does.This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.6 -

✭✭✭✭✭ESO's feed only works on things using the standard humanoid body type. This means goblins,/falmer hags, werewolves, and other things don't count.
Reason for this is feed is a reskinned Blade of Woe and when they did this they quickly realized feed also suddenly works on Daedra and other vampires. Instead of fixing this ZOS made a vampire cannibal achievement....PC NA - Ceyanna Ashton - Breton Vampire MagDK3 -

I found out there's a vampire in the Fighter's guild in Greymoor from this achievement.Hoping for more playable races1 -
