Best healing class overall?

Hello, I am a returning player wanting to focus healing.

What are the best classes overall for healing and why? I assume Templar is up at the top?

Thanks :)

Templar, Necromancer and Warden. All have their own strengths. Templar is probably the easiest one to play and get into. Take the one you prefer from a thematic point. I personally like the healing theme of the Necromancer and the ability to resurect people with my ultimate.

Edit: Some people love Sorcerer healer because they have the best "oh-***-button" heal. I don't think they offer anything crazy like Minor Toughness of the Warden though.

I dont know when you stopped playing but healer templar got guttet. I think warden is the best now. Minor regen buffs, burst hea synergy for tank, easy major mending are hard to beat.

Another vote for warden, especially now the winter's respite set exists.

Some of it is trickier than templar because a lot more of the skills have time factors in them - but being able to lay down three healing circles (if running winter's respite), give minor toughness, mending etc and other buffs plus a very nice ultimate heal is a win.
Too many toons not enough time

In terms of pure healing output, all classes are on a relatively equal level and can all reach way stronger heals than what is needed for raid hardmodes.
So I'd say the "best" class is the one that provides the strongest buffs and debuffs that your group is missing.
Dragonknight and Warden buffs are often covered by the tank and offtank, nighblades only buff groups that have stamina dds and no nightblade (which is quite rare), so I'd recommend Necro, Templar or Sorc.

Templar, followed by Warden, then Necro

Depends on if you want PvP, PvX or PvE. PvE and PvX would probably be warden. Especially in small scale PvP settings. Necro healers are really strong in larger groups and are a strong alternative.

one of the Cyro ballgroup leader (non CP, PC EU) said on stream, that their NB usually perform best healing.

The real answer is besides OP wardens the healers are quite balanced. Actually nevermind dk healer shield issue still exists

Now when the last time...you seen anything besides dk tank. We got it good compared to them.

If you really want to heal at end game, you are probably going to want both a Warden and a Templar. Templar is not the clear obvious choice any longer. They are still great for raw healing, but wardens frankly provide more to their groups in other areas. Most raid groups use one of each. Groups still need a templar for buffs, but really only one. This is usually a healer, so it is still safe pic. That said, most people that are serious about healing endgame bring whatever healer their raid leader tells them to bring.

Activating a Dark Magic ability grants Minor Prophecy to nearby allies, increasing Spell Critical by 1320 for 20 seconds.

Most of these class specific buffs shouldnt really be considered. They are general buffs intended to reward representation of said class in group more or less. It's why these minor buffs are generally activated but using the class at a basic level regardless of role.

Warden "healers" arent providing minor toughness, wardens are. It's why lotus is designed the way it is. Ofc it's easier for a healer to keep the buff active but not exclusively. Likewise dps and healing templars and sorcs are equally going to be providing their minors to the group.

When did that happen or is that coming next patch? :frowning: Templar healer was my first main for group content and I’d been working on leveling and gearing a templar tank.

I’ve not been able to get the feel of playing a warden in PvE, even as a healer, the role I usually prefer. I don’t know why really. I’d ended up playing my mgicka warden as a sort of tanky dps/healer hybrid in PvP but we’ll see where everything stands next patch.

templar healing is by far the easiest for me.
breathe of life and ritual is op in both pvp and pve. breathe of life is auto targetting meaning it heals the lowest hp all.
i have warden necro and templar. but templar was the easiest and necro was the most fun healer class to play with. warden is meh, its good but boring. warden is most enjoyable in tanking and dd imo.

keep in mind all classes can opt in for healer but they wont be as efficient as the 3 classes mentioned above.
in fact theres a chance you will be criticized if you go in a pug dungeon with a Nightblade healer. ive seen good dorc and dk healers but its really hard

id wait for the next patch since its gonna drastically change everyone's current builds. most major combat mechs including cp system is being changed.

It depends on content, group, etc. For casual PUG dungeon healing, with one damage bar and one healing bar, I still prefer templar and sorcerer. Necros are probably just as good, but I don't like the corpse management stuff.

Wardens are fine too, if you don't mind not having a great emergency heal.

Unlike other classes, Nightblade forces a choice between morphs good for healing and morphs good for damage dealing. Any particular magblade will be weak at one of those functions.

Healing on a DK is only for specialized group composition/build reasons, or because you want to queue that particular character for dungeons.

Yeah, but Minor Prophecy is nothing specific to the Sorcerer healer nor does it really fit the theme of a healer. Warden healers are the best choice to keep Minor Toughness up on the whole group and the buff itself fits the theme of a healer in my opinion.

For me my favorite class to heal with is the Warden. Necro's and Templars are good as well.
