Preferable details and state reasons why. Please keep note every player has its own passion and personal dislike, What I state below is purely how i feel with the race. Its not aimed directly to anyone, thank you

Bretons for me.
- Poor lore
- Extremely simplistic humanoid behavior and appearance highly annoying female characters compared to my supremely gorgeous and intellectual powerhouses of nearly Perfected Altmer Light and Magic simply eons ahead of them.
- Very little content,Bretons were basically over at launch with High Rock and their story.
- Not a single personal lovable character with exception of High King Emeric that I could stand at least
- Your typical architecture ,armor, culture and religion closely resembling Britons in real life, least unique race compared to other Alien/Elven/Feline and even Nords have far richer lore and setting
- High rock excluding bit of Rivenspire is too mundane compared to other extraordinary landscapes ,Alien is aimed to Argonians they are the closet to Monster looking class.
- Yawn at their dialogue ,poorer voice acting in comparison to rest

As they almost do not belong in The Elder Scrolls Universe. The only race I would personally remove or alter significantly .

Basically any generic human / elf race. Altmer, Dunmer, Breton, Nord, Imperial. B-O-R-I-N-G.

Argonians, Khajiit, Orcs are quite interesting for me because they're rarer than the other races.

I think of all the races Altmer might take the crown, they're the most boring, generic and bland race in ESO in my opinion (and that every second player I encounter is an Altmer doesn't help at all).

Nords, simply because its hard to follow up on the complexity, conflict, and character work of Skyrim.

There's some character work I really like - Aera Earth-Turner and her tragic family saga was hugely influential for my Vestige.

But overall the settings and stories feel like a watered-down, few-shades-of-grey version of Skyrim. I don't know that ESO could really avoid that as an MMO rather than a single-player game, but for me the Nords suffer from the contrast the most. Probably because Skyrim is still fairly recent.

Side note: for as much as ZOS seems to want to sell content based on nostalgia for the single player content, they really struggle when I make direct comparisons to the content they are remaking. I have my gripes that are unique to Greymoor, but the whole "vampire theme" of the year starts to look very lackluster when I compare it to TES V's Dawnguard. But apparently these "theme park" retreads of old content sell well enough, so what do I know?

It's not the lore's fault, but yeah the way the race is portrayed in ESO is mostly straight cringe. They did that to the Bosmer too, great lore but in this game they're cartoons. The Dunmer get variety and nuance, so you know they can create that even in the context of an MMO. They just don't for races somebody decided should be punch lines.

    Nords
The vast majority of the Nords that I encounter in the series seem relatively interchangeable.

TES has designed them so that their archetype is.... mead. Just mead. Rarely a conversation with a nord passes where mead isn't mentioned. They come off as relatively unintelligent and unidimensional as a result.

The franchise (namely Skyrim and ESO) treats them as a monolith, with their accents and furs and heavy weapons and who seem to spend every evening packed into a tavern with literally every other nord in the franchise, drinking mead raucously while singing songs about drinking mead.

We need more like the ones you find randomly scattered about the world in TES III. They wear nothing but animal-print speedos and seem to have a lot of trouble with witches.

I voted Bosmer from a gameplay perspective.
In terms of raw power they add very little for me.

In terms of Lore I totally agree Nord is a snooze fest.

"Shouting viking" We're loud... very loud.. we're rude... very rude... We're meatheads... all the way.

We just had an entire CHAPTER dedicated to them.. and they're in 2 basegame regions.. And we've learned absolutely nothing new about them other than what's already established. "Mead, shouting, loves to hit stuff - oh what's that? vampire and werewolves? lets hit them!"

Vikings and Dragons, two things that've been done to exhaustion.. And they merged them together lol.

ZZZZzzzzZZzz Been done a 1000 ways over.

It would be tempting to say that the reduced presentation of the races is merely a base game problem, and that the chapters have gradually added such nuance and variety to the races, but that wouldn't be entirely true. The Dunmer have had nuanced and various depictions since base game with the Morrowind Chapter elaborating on that, while races like the Nords merely got their identities reduced to: East = drunk and foolish with a mead-obsession, West = angry and suspicious with a mead obsession.

It is indeed a pity that interesting races like the Bretons (who hadn't been explored deeply in lore since Daggerfall) and the Bosmer (same, but Arena), are out of land for even the possibility of further exploration of their lore. (The Bosmer at least have Falinesti.).

I wanted to vote Argonian or Khajiit but the more I thought about them the more lore I remembered. Bretons are my favorite actually and have some very great lore but it's not at the forefront of their society but buried underneath history tombs and ruins.

So that leaves me with Bosmer. They feel like a meme or a joke to me with how they're represented in game, and their lore doesn't feel all that great to me. I understand their creation, how they help the forest, and all that other stuff but it feels like something is missing.

They're so scared of being creative with the races. They walk such a safe path with most of the races they don't do them any justice.

    The most one-dimensional:
-Bretons - Knights/Medieval theme - Unless reachmen - then celtic theme. Basicly Arthurian Legend.
    -Imperials - Roman history
    -Nords - Vikings
-High Elves - Stereotypical high elves with their vast superiority complex
-Bosmer - Classic hippies, except for the cannibal part, which I really enjoy - more of this please to stray from the beaten path
-Orcs - "we're outsiders and nomads"

    Somewhere in the middle:
-Redguards - The way of the sword, Sword masters and martials arts.. Basicly Bushido/Samurai values mixed with middle eastern/African culture. Atleast they mix 2-3 different cultures instead of ripping off only 1 for 90% of their lore (Hi Nords)

    The most creative races are:
-Dunmer - they got multiple very distinct houses and cultures (ashlanders/city dwellers) and different religions.
-Argonians - They need their lore expanded - we got the Hist but I think we'll see a Spartacus type twist on them in the future, when they rebel from oppression and colonial powers.
-Khajiit - I love the contrast between far eastern spirituality/architecture mixed with thievery and heavy drug use.

Nords. They’ve always been the dumb drunks of TES. I think my first encounter with them was in TES III — “A witch stole my clothes!” Riiight. ;)

ESO continues this, on top of most of them being beady-eyed potato-heads, the most unattractive of the human races. There are some exceptions of course, first to mind being Breda of the New Life festival.

Before ESO, my vote would have been orcs, but they have been among the most varied NPCs I’ve interacted with and Orsinium added depth to their culture.

    Redguards
Wanted to say Alter, but Redguards are worse. They are a cliche of the old Arabian types, which are a cliche themselves. It’s like saying Oriental means Samurai and Ninjas, when both of those are restricted to a specific era of Japan, which only makes up a specific part of ‘The Orient’, and even then only pacific classes of the Japanese.

Redguards are that. The entire concept of that race seems to be so generic and typecast, and not even a good or flavorful set.

Altmer are almost as bad, though. Every time I talk to one, it’s like, “Oh, look! Another arrogant ***!” So very few have anything redeeming about them. I’ve never made a Redguard since Morrowind, and every time I make an Altmer, I alter the looks until they look nothing like their race, because I find their looks pretty distasteful, too.

Both of these races are boring, uninteresting, cliches.

Redguards. I hated questing in Alik'r because of their hypocrisy. They call themselves mighty warriors, yet cry like babies at the sight of a single zombie. And if one of them saves their brethren from said zombie, he or she would be shunned and banished from society. Also, they came to Alik'r, they wiped out several spieces and nations, just to take their land. Other races sure do kill and enslave, but hardly genocide everyone they come across while trying to pass as noble warriors.

It was a close call between Redguard and Imperial. Both seem generic archetypes of real world cultures. But Imperials are so boringly Roman Imperial in every way, I had no other choice. Plus there is no real explanation I can come up with, why they are.
I mean why the tunics? Romans lived in Italy. It's blooody hot there in the summer. But in Cyrodiil? Its famous for it temperate and mild climate. Or do they simply like freezing. Or is it because of the breeze around the crown jewels?

So to be blunt: Imperials are copy pasted, without explanation.

I quite like all races, some more so than others. Most of the cultures and lore I find engaging, but purely from a racial point of view I feel less engaged with 'mainland' Nords. Despite some promising NPC conversations and insights in the game, the whole mead-drinking, gruff-speaking angle feels a bit predictable.
