What is something in ESO you don't quite get?

firing off skills on a dummy that doesnt move.

    Three parts:

Practicing rotation: DPS has a very high skill ceiling in ESO, and it's going to take some serious practice to get an optimized rotation going.

Bragging Rights: Some people really do view their dummy parse numbers as indicative of how good they are as a player.

Experimentation: Dummy Parses can be useful when you're experimenting with your build, to see whether a given change will improve it.

There are legitimate reasons for someone to parse on a dummy. I just lose interest quickly.

And I do not get why people refuse to accept blank guild applications. My class and lvl is shown already in the application, since i apply it is logical that I want in. Just, why?

There are a million players of that class/level, and quite honestly that means nothing to us, we accept player of any skill/level. We turn down 10 times more apps than we accept and are constantly near capacity so no, your name and level isn't good enough. We have built an awesome community and prefer to keep it that way, so we don't take chances joining rando's who couldn't bother to put more than a pre-filled in name & level on their application. It is an application after all, if someone can't bother to fill it out, we can't bother to think twice about it.

Thank you for sharing. I do understand this point of view, I just have a completely different view of this.
In my point of view, you will not know anything about a person, no matter what he writes, and you have no right to ask him about his personal life. I, too, am not obliged to write something oder something extra about myself and if you do not ask for this in advertising, then I will not.

What I am confused about is what ARE we supposed to write? It's not really about laziness (all the time) but moreso like, I legit don't know what guilds want, they never say.
    Hoping for more playable races

The outfit station and dye system. I don't have a problem with it, to each their own, but it seems to have a wide appeal that I just don't get. I like costumes, polymorphs and skins a lot.

Did you know that you can use the dye system to change the colors of your costumes? I like using costumes too, but many times I like to recolor them so they won’t look like everybody else’s costumes. That newest dress we got paired with that blue color we get for doing the Western Skyrim story quest is simply stunning! 👗

Why does the Nords have so many different accents in ESO?

And has anybody ever explained why in the hell reachmen are scottish in the second era? I missed it.

It's probably a bit of a reference to real history between Scandinavia(mainly Norway) and Scotland.

Clever, but they aren't scottish in the 4th era, so what the hell. It's bizarre to me how often ESO writers *** with the lore just because. They may not like the way the world has been built so far, but it is what it is.

What i don't quite get is that it's been over 3 months since U28 dropped and we are still getting crashes. The most easily producible one is the notorious "12th person into the group" crash. How is it that Zos can't fix this?

Last communication from Zos is that we have to wait to U29 in hope that it will be fixed. Reference

Based on previous track record, it's highly unlikely that it will be fixed. There's always hope but hope doesn't really mean much when you keep getting lip service with no concrete results time and time again. Come on Zos! Fix your broken game!

Oh that's easy to explain, it's just to build muscle memory and dyno test the potential output of your build. It's like running your R34 Skyline through a dyno to see what it's total HP or power to the wheels are, but instead with your build. Dummy humping is the only real way to efficiently do this, unless you are someone who doesn't like to come to dungeons or trials prepared and just wing it after drastically changing your build. You know, those guys that show up to YMCA basketball pickup games wearing jeans and flip flops and are like "Let's just see what happens...we'll give it a shot...".

I'm confused. How are you hearing them unless you are in discord or some other voice chat program with them? Players can't just turn their mic on and broadcast to the zone. I can't even imagine what a nightmare it would be if they could.

Consoles have voice chat. When you come into a zone (depending on settings) you automatically join that zones channel. I know on Xbox I'll often hear everyone a second or two before I finish zoning in. It can be irritating when you zone to a popular wayshrine. Fortunately if there's a limit on ignoring someone through Xbox I haven't reached it yet

Probably playing on console, which has integrated voice chat. They could leave the channel, though. I'm never in it because I don't want to hear ANYTHING from randoms in area chat.

I still don’t understand why there hasn’t been any actual pvp content updates since Morrowind, which was 4 chapters ago. We haven’t even gotten a new BG map since Wrathstone, 2 years ago.

I like how ZOS regularly adds content but I wish the content itself wasn’t so predictable, mundane, repetitive, etc. The announcements don’t even make me excited anymore because I know exactly what copy paste content is going to be in there. Dungeon DLCs are always just that, 2 dungeons. It’s never anything extra like adding a new race as well, and it’s never anything slightly different like adding an “endless dungeon” sort of thing like WoW’s torghast for example. At this point, we haven’t even gotten a new active skill line since Summerset. One of the main balance issues is that ZOS keeps trying to add more class stam skills but stam was originally designed to primarily use weapon skills, so stam often has way more skill and build options than mag. They could easily fix this by adding new mag weapons like staff lines for the multiple schools of magic that aren’t in the game yet. With the weapons being staves, they wouldn’t even need to design new weapon models.

For a fantasy mmorpg set in the elder scrolls universe, there’s really not much innovation happening with ESO DLC at all. Every new zone has X world bosses, a dolemen equivalent, delves, public dungeons, etc, but it’s just a different setting for the exact same copy paste content we see every time. I’d really like them to try something new and innovative instead of just copying the same formula each time.

Honestly, if their advert in Guild Finder doesn't state what they are looking for on your application, your best bet is to put down why you think you would be a good fit based on their description. That will make your app stand out.

As for the point of what someone wrote not knowing a person by what they write, very true if they are trying to purposefully mislead us and it does happen. Those folks don't generally last long though, as either they or us will quickly realize the mistake. But generally, the fact someone took the time to write anything, especially if it answers the two items we ask be included, is a big step in the right direction and will result in a click of the accept button. I agree on prying for personal information, but someone can easily keep it to in-game related answers, like I enjoy harvesting, trading, whatever or I am looking for a newbie friendly guild, or I can do 90k DPS and can commit to do trials daily with you.. all good answers depending on what that guild focuses on.

Mostly though, in our case, we just want to know that the person actually read our description and still thinks they would be a good fit, because they are much more qualified than us to do so..
