Maybe it just depends on where and at which time you try to farm it. I never had any issues finding nodes.VvwvenomwvV wrote: »Problem: It's hard to get. (...)
Its not hard to obtain imo. If you are struggling to find it, just buy some from guild vendors. Its dirt cheap.
it's too much i would say.
there's actually too much of any material. I sell to vendor rubedite iron and ruby ash, because they're too cheap to bother selling them in guild stores. Silk is decent because pve is full magicka, and platinum sells the same as slik.
but the game would surely use a lower spawn rate, or fewer nodes over an area.
also starter zones have way much more farming nodes than other zones, probably to stress new players into the craft bag

Cheap? its the second most expensive refined mat after platinum ounce at the moment.
The ancestor silk nodes are easy to spot just takes time to farm them, either from the nodes in zones or from surveys, if you need a large quantity your best bet is still guild traders.
I don't think there are enough plant based enemies for it to make much difference, even then I think it would be more likely for them to drop alchemy mats.

Have 6 alts doing master writs, its one mat I run out off together with jewelry crafting.
Don't farm outside of surveys and they are on hold because increased drop chances the 8th.
jewelry might get more master crafters because blue tempers sell for more than any other gold one.
Silk also drop hide because 6 year old reasons, any animal style mob drop leather including mud crabs but not in FG1.
I guess it was removed as people pulled them on last boss and then died and repeated?
