Is Vateshran 2H mandatory?

Hey guys, returning player here.

I left the game when new moon-fury, spriggan-fury and crafty alfiq bright was the meta, so probably 1 year or more ago.

I decided to hop into the game again since I am over 810cp, trying to focus on stamina dragonknight only as pvp main, which is the only class i always loved mainly for Leap :P

Reading around I saw heavy armor is the meta right now with proc sets, and even tho I am not a huge fan of those I decided to make a build which is:

2x Bloospawn
5x Syvarra's Scales (Frontbar only)
5x Daedric Trickery (Backbar only)
1x Malacath Ring
1x Trainee

I have a mix of Reinforced, Impen and Sturdy traits on armor and 1 Robust 2x Bloodsthirsty jewels weapon damage enchants (I maybe plan to make the Robust as Infused when have the transmutes).

To be honest I am having a lot of success with this build, way stronger than in the past using new moon fury etc.

I was wondering if maybe the 2h Vate arena weapon would make the build even stronger, maybe giving up the monster set and the trainee for it, I saw almost in every build people run it.

And the non-perfected version will be viable anyway?

Procs will stop working in a couple weeks so dont bother.

I can just dwap syvarra for seventh legion in case it gets nerfed so...

They will test the server load with procs disabled. Only flat stat sets will be an option for a while. 7th wont work either. Also any set that does any kind of check. Seducer checks if it is a mag ability - wont work. They used it in the stream as an example. I suggest you craft some fortified brass and farm some hulking draugr for the new patch

Even tho proc sets are kinda a plague, this is such poor game balance completely disable them, and for sure another cancer meta will be up again, so what's the point.

Even deadric trickery won't work?

@GRXRG Hundings Rage+Spriggan+2 one piece monstersets. Feels like 2015 again and it will be glorious. Finally I can go full on medium again and completely destroy enemies that got used to proc carry, because the other way around I won't get blown to Oblivion by procs without wearing heavy armor myself.

That could be nice, but it's so sad after returning to see how stamden and stamcro are still ape tier carrying classes, but yeah pay2win xD

yeah i am forced to play hevay this patch, wanna go back to medium as well, even tho people are shouring about 9k health regen full heavy builds so i dunno...

The thing with proc sets being disabled will be a temporary test in Cyrodiil, and won't affect Battlegrounds or Imperial City. If it turns out to make a significant impact on performance, I'd wager that they'll change/nerf a number of sets, while allowing others to keep working as they do now.

As for the original question; the Vateshran 2h isn't "required" by any means, but it's definitely a good weapon when properly utilized with burst damage. In Stamina DK's case, I suppose you would stack your DOTs up and pressure normally, then Dizzying Swing -> Medium Attack for damage/stun and Vate proc -> Leap -> Execute if target(s) still alive. 'Course, it's worth mentioning that you can also trigger the Vateshran 2h proc from your other bar, so you don't necessarily "have" to use Dizzying Swing at all.

I tried Vateshran 2h and, although the stacks of frenzied momentum were nice, they only added up to like 138 WD, and I found that I really didn't land the Frenzied Momentum proc that often. Other, better players probably did better with it than me, but it is not a simple set to use effectively IMO

My take as well. If you are good at landing dizzy + medium combos, you will feast with the Vate 2H. I miss more often than not.

I would be more inclined to back bar Bani's Torment, so when a d-swing monkey jumps me their Major Maimed and I'm receiving +16% healing for 15 seconds. Easy to apply - Frost Clench - taunts and gain the Frost staff block mitigation. Drink an Immovable pot to trigger the CP 2.0 defensive passives to mitigate more damage.

It's strong. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. You end up dropping Bloodspawn for it, up to you if that's worth it or not.

It lends itself very well to dizzy swing builds. Build stacks -> Dizzy -> medium attack to stun procs it to stack burst with your next followup skill.

I've also been back barring it for spin to win builds.

How much do I lose if i get the normal version instead of the perfected one?

After 15 tries i finally cleared veteran and dropped trash 1h, and heard people took like 100 runs to get what they wanted, so it was already a pain clearing it once for me, how much do i lose with less 877 stamina?

I'll stick with the normal version then, i have the rest of my build all golded out, people told me I lose like 1% damage frontbar and a bit of healing from rally which i don't run, i run forward momentum frontbar.

So even tho i'm kinda ocd for min maxing this time I won't xD maybe once or 2 a week i still try to one or 2 runs of vVate, but i won't tryhard it just for the perfected i need.
