the fact you can still get killed when you've logged off is annoying.

logged off with 1,057 tel var, a hour ago, just logged back on and was spawned in the alliance base, with half my tel var gone even through I didn't get killed. I dont know if this is a bug or something, but it doesn't seem fair that I've had half my tel var taken when I didn't even get killed.

Did you logged off at your alliance's base? Anywhere else is kinda risky imo.

I don't keep any Tel Var on my characters for precisely this reason. If you're in your base, bank before logging out. If you're in the city somewhere, find a safe corner, queue out to Cyrodiil, bank your tel var and log from there.

for context, I didnt get killed by anything, and there where no enemy players near me either when I logged off, so I dont see why I've lost half the tel var I had (1,057)if I didnt die to anything

That's to deter the plug pullers from skipping out on a fight.

Yet it only actually punishes innocent players who log off or get disconnected.

that doesnt seem very fair. there wasnt any enemy players near me, so i dont get why they took half my tel var and all the treasure I collected. that just feels like a bug.

If you lost something else that you recently acquired, looks like kind of rollback. Maybe you should submit a support ticket (not bug report, those don't get answers)

You can't be. When you log off your character despawns from the world. Something else happened.

As a Cyrodiil player, it's always kind of a mini-game when logging back in after a disconnect.

Sometimes you're dead (immediately killed after the disconnect) and sometimes you are inexplicably still alive and well behind the current front-lines (were despawned after the disconnect). The latter can allow you to put down a clutch tent if you are quick enough!

Of course, it would be better not to be disconnected randomly be the server in the first place.

Maybe it wasn't when you logged out, but when you logged in. When the loading screen is up, you are already in game. The screen just hides the textures load. There have been times were screens have taken so long after using a sewer ladder that the protective blue aura wore off and you were dead by the time the screen went away. Why or how the game auto spawned you to the sewer, I don't know, though I have some guesses. Sometimes after disconnects in Cyrodiil, I can get back to the same keep location. Other times I'm back at base.

Normally you have to wait 10 seconds before you are logged out for that exact reason, so you can't for example press ALT + F4 to avoid losing all your Telvars. If you waited those 10 seconds and still lost Telvars, I would assume this is due to server lag or something extending those 10 seconds without letting you know, which would be unfortunate but couldn't be helped.
