Let's say the boss attack me for 100k damage. here's 2 example :
I have 3300 resist and plus 3% from ironclad cp. How much damage do i take?
Now i have 0 resist, 3% from ironclad cp and boss have minor maim on them ( 5% damage reduction ). How much damage do i take?

    I think mobs have base 100 pen, so u would actually get more damage in the first example, 92297 vs 92150 but the more armor you have, the more beneficial more armor is, for example, base 100 armor they are exactly the same, 92150 vs 92150, and closer to the cap (33100 vs 29800 + maim) you will end up with 48,500 vs 50682.5

    U mean i will take less damage with 0 resist and minor maim apply to boss?

    Yes, but only because you are comparing 3200 vs 0+maim (because as I mentioned all PvE mobs have 100 penetration)

    I think the flat value in reality really is a percentage value, it's simply displayed as flat value, but it reduces a percentage of damage.

    So at the end of the day you are simply comparing 2 percentage values.

    ^ This

    Like for example 660 resistances is equal to 1% damage mitigation. 33,000 is 50% damage mitigation.

    Major Prophecy gives you 2629 spell critical which boosts your critical rating by 10%.

    It is important to note however, that there is a common misconception when it comes to comparing resistances to percentage mitigation buffs. Adding 660 resistances to your build is only equal to adding a unique 1% mitigation buff if you have 0 resistances to begin with. The more resistances you already have, the stronger adding a flat value of resistances will become compared to adding another percentage mitigation buff, until you reach the resistance cap that is. Past that point, adding more resistances is pointless in PvE.

    Example calculations to demonstrate this behavior with 1k incoming damage:

    1) 0 resistances vs 660 resistances
    0 resistances = 0% mitigation = 100% damage received = 1000 incoming damage stays 1000 damage
    660 resistances = 1% mitigation = 99% damage received = 1000 incoming damage becomes 990 damage
    --> before: 1000 damage, after: 990 damage --> adding 660 resistances is equal to adding a unique (1 - 990/1000) = 1% mitigation buff

    2) 16170 resistances vs 16830 resistances
    16170 resistances = 24.5% mitigation = 75.5% damage received = 1000 incoming damage becomes 755
    16830 resistances = 25.5% mitigation = 74.5% damage received = 1000 incoming damage becomes 745
    ---> before: 755 damage, after: 745 damage --> adding 660 resistances is equal to adding a unique (1 - 745/755) = 1.32% mitigation buff

    3) 32340 resistances vs 33000 resistances
    32340 resistances = 49% mitigation = 51% damage received = 1000 incoming damage becomes 510
    33000 resistances = 50% mitigation = 50% damage received = 1000 incoming damage becomes 500
    ---> before: 510 damage, after: 500 damage --> adding 660 resistances is equal to adding a unique (1 - 500/510) = 1.96% mitigation buff

    The more you stack, the stronger it becomes, interesting, this also works for penetration but reversed right? This could be the reason why pen is so strong.
