Templar, Dragon Knight, Nightblade, or Sorcerer? Why?

Templar reminded me of the dawngaurd (skyrim) powers. ESO I'd like a sun cloak.
I used this class during beta and stuck with it. I once thought I might want to create some other characters to use the other class skills but I'm having too much fun to start over.

Templar because I like the ranged spells they have and Sorcerer's skills bug me. I also like the DK and Nightblade.

So really it's just the Sorcerer I don't... not sure why? Judging by the pole I'm alone in this.

I don't understand why ESO moved away from the usual spell schools, Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, Mysticism ect.. In my own opinion it is one of the defining differences that an Elder Scrolls game offers over other RPG games.

I can't say for the previous game releases, but I have a Vet 2 Sorcerer at the moment and his skills seem, well, stale. 1-50 was dandy, but at Vet rank/dungeons, my pets are garbage (Which is what I relied on up to 50.) and the other skills don't seem...powerful enough.

I plan on creating a Templar and going the Support/Tank role running with Heavy Armor and Resto/Destruction Staff combo, hoping that I'll have more of a fun time with that.

I just had to go templar, I am a fulltime Healer and I did the same thing, I did in wow:
Oh this class has a heal tree more than the others, great, they are much more difficult to patch them to useless, I take them!
Additionally I somehow like all the holy wariors, I have the official right to hate all undead things xD
No, the reason is: If I am not a healer, I will be as dangerdenying, as if I would heal myself, that usually mean, I would just burst like crazy or do some really strange tank stuff xD
(Did you know, that the first burning crusade dungeon is actually 2 trash packs? and only 2 because of the bosses 2 and 3 you can't pull them together, but the rest of the trash you can just pull and kite xD things like that^^)
It is better for me, the people around me and the game if I stick to healing/support stuff xD
Warden Main apparently... 7 Wardens currently, otherwise a healer of every class.
Mostly active in No CP PVP on EU, blaming the buffbot meta in pve.
I want to feel like I am saving somebodies life, not like I am carrying amunition for them...

Sorcerer because they have great burst damage, great damage over time (pets), great damage mitigation (any armor you want, plus pets), and great crowd control. Mages Guild reveal plus teleport saves you from ambush/hot situations, the list goes on. Anyone playing this game solo or for numbers will see more benefit from this class because its great 1v1 and 1vs group or boss. A PvP only player with a group will prefer NB, but thats only part of this game.

THAT SAID... my first vote on this poll would be ANY on the basis of character concept, because unlike a seeming majority of players, I play this game with a concept for an actual character with a life and personality in the fantasy setting, and not just an image with a bunch of numbers behind it.

Nightblade, because all my first TES characters in every TES game are always stealthy characters.

Also, I'm very pleasantly surprised to see the distribution of class preference is almost completely even. Shows Zenimax did something right.

I play a Templar healer as a duo with my wife, who is playing a Nightblade DW build. I'm level 46 currently, and am wearing heavy armor, with that skill at 50. I wear 2 light armor pieces, with that skill currently at 35. I'll have all passives in both and will be able to have a ton of versatility with different armor & skill combinations.

templar - lack of healers in general and they are best suited for being a healer.

This is subjective, and in my opinion, quite inaccurate.

I can link you some threads on this if you'd like, but feel free to do the research on your own here.

I say BLAH to those other threads. Templar has amazing Stamina management with Restoring Aura so you can use a lot of Stamina abilities and support heal. You can also equip a Restro Staff like the rest of the healers are required to and have next to no Magicka issues with the Heavy Attack PLUS your applying damage DECENT damage.

Plus we get a healing ultimate if Templars ARENT be the best healers color me shocked. Only class I know that can burst heal 3 people.

As dps role, I think sorc are a safe choice both stamina and magicka. They have good overall stats, free execute passive and reduce ultimate cost. As magicka, the overload streak combination as backyard runner, seam pretty strong and good dps from range. But I can't tell for sure since I don't play sorc myself, but those I know who do, seam to do it pretty well.

Magika Nightblade is a lot of fun but it requires quite a lot of skill and since the nerf of proximity detonation I abandoned mine.

My preference is magika sorc. Can heal and mitigate a lot of damage has excellent ranged dps.

For PvE: I play a magDK DD in raids, but if you take efficiency as a priority I should play a magicka Sorcerer DD. Why play a light armor wearer in melee when you can do the same dps from range ?

für PvP: No idea, maybe the last field where a NB is still able to shine somewhat...oh but Sorcs...

for pve i do agree that other classes can be equal or slightly better due to their better magicka management but their lack of burst healing and group healing without LoS makes them by far weaker healers than templars in pvp.

    >:) got to love how times have changed sorcerer has strongest burst heal in game, but takes do skill so it does die.

I like Templar the best because in my opinion it's the easiest but it can still do a lot of damage! I've been playing eso for a long time yet I'm still what people would call a noob so a Templars self heals are great. On the other hand, I do love my magicka nightblade at the moment so that would be second choice

Templar was the shiz in Beta. I mean their group utility was obvious.
