How much dps should a solo build like this be able to do?

Paragonx78
I am just curious, at level 50 with like 300 cp
Solo build STamina Sorc 2h with
5x Briar and 5x New moon with ring of the Pale order and Domihaus helmet 1 piece.

Basic Rotation I think is
Keep up Bound Armaments-Surge-Endless Hail/Barbed Trap

then
Brawler until dot's fall off. Maybe swap out brawler with wrecking blow on fights without adds?

How much dps should something like this be able to pull?

As mostly solo myself. I dont really bother with DPS. Yes, high dps makes things quicker and certain mechs doable (due to dps checks).

As solo I think the biggest factor, is survivability. Keeping up shields and health regen would be 1st on my list.

Thanks, I was starting to think this myself. I want to learn to play correctly and maximize my dps, but to be honest I am thinking it's just more important to execute fight mechanics properly. I'v seen some speed runs with Stam sorc do like 20-30k on bosses in there and that doesn't seem high but they do really well. And then I see people posting parses of 100k+ and I was little confused.

I guess obviously in a boss fight where you move around and have to manage resources and adds your dps is going to fall greatly compared to a situation where you can stand still and keep up every dot perfectly.

For overland soloing it is not relevant, but if you search for some comparison, you should be able to do around 20-30K DPS in solo fights (world bosses or 6 mil. dummy).

20k is fine in SOLO. Without group support, the highest i have been able to do on a 6 mil dummy was 56k with a MagBlade. In short fights against dungeon Bosses, you can even get more than 80k, when you drop an ultimate and have a good timing. But i digress.

With your setup, you should be able to do about 35k without groupbuffs. Aim for that and than try to steady at that mark.
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

The speed runs might be from older content when dps generally was a lot lower.

100k dps single target dps is mainly caused by highly optimized group buffs, you need a fully debuffed target and a high up-time on strong offensive buffs.

For solo play with ring of the pale order its important to manage damage output and sustain. Its better to keep dots on the target and heavy attack a couple times so you dont run out of stamina and die because you cannot break-free or dodge an attack. On my stamplar I can usually manage around 35-40k dps solo, in trails its usually twice as much. Anything above 30k should be enough for solo content, again dps is not the most important thing while playing solo.

That aint much of a rotation. Not sure what you mean by keeping up bound armamants, but if you are going to use this skill effectively for damage, you really need to light attack weave and then this becomes a skill you cast every 4 stacks.

A stam sorc without hurricane? Make room for this skill. You probably want to figure out how to work a few more DOTs into that build and consider using crystal weapon as your spam. .

Wait.. Im still leveling it and I was under the impression that this was a buff with a cooldown and it proc'd off of light attack weaving every 4th attack. You have to activate to do extra damage?

Thanks everyone for the tips, this really gives me something to work on the basics with at least.

Yes, it needs to be cast again when you have 4 stacks active. Basically you will cast it every 5 skills in a perfect dynamic rotation.
