Just wondering if there a lot of people out there that roll argonian not for the passives but because you just like them the most.

    I'll go with passives since it's the elements of different perks to build to and around. Mainly I just like playing a certain class and I want to try all the suitable and semi-suitable races with the class.

    Imperial magblade- check (race changed later to the Breton)
    Khajiit magblade- check
    Breton magblade- check
    High Elf mablade- check
    Dunmer magblade- check
    ->->->Argonian magblade- check<-<-<-
    Fan of playing magblade since 2015. (PC NA)

    Once upon a time, argonian was really the strongest option for non shadowy disguise magblade brawlers, and healers. I simply hang on to that dream returning and I like how they look in my outfit setup.

    I posted this poll to show that most people only pick Argonian because they like the race. Not many people choose it for the actual passives. If they did they would be Orc, Dark Elf, for damage, Nord for tanking, Breton for healing, etc. Well after the next patch we should see a lot more High Elves as well and probably less Nords. My point it the 256 weapon\spell damage is just that much better. I'll still be out there on my lizard stamblade its just wont be as good.
    -The potion passive is great but its being nerfed again and its on a 60 second timer
    - %6 healing is trash
    - 1k Stam, health, magica is mediocre.

    Rule of cool.
    They've got same meso American culture roots of Warhammer lizard men but sometimes it's frustrating playing with them due boring passives like 6%healing and inconveniences like outfits style that apply bad, flattening facial features for example.

    Played Argonian since morrowind. Too bad they have racials that pale in comparison to others. The only thing I like the most is the Resourceful racial, since I play vampire and my magicka drains very quickly, that buff is very handy.

    For as little swimming you will normally do in general, I've noticed I do it enough for the loss in swim speed bonus on my non-argonian toons to be noticeable. Plus the potion passive is the biz for certain builds.

    My only argonian was a dark cloak magblade (she's retired now), and technically I picked her for the racial passives. Or passive, the potion passive to be specific. She was in heavy armor with potion cooldown glyphs and threw back tri-pots like a champ. The trollyness of it all was very amusing to me. The feather head-fringe was also a big part of it though too, ngl.

    That said, after the incoming nerfs I likely won't ever make one again.

    Argonian racials are way better for PvP than PvE, and PvP has much more diverse builds and stat requirements. Even the nerfed racials on PTS are equal to ~130 stam and magicka recovery without potion cooldown glyphs, and a resource burst when you need it. The 6% healing done is the weakest racial I think, but it hasn't stopped me from stacking 60k+ mag on my argonian magsorc and nuking people above me with Ice Comet from beneath keeps :ppp

    Let's hope they get a buff to be a more appealing choice

    Back in the day when I started I could swim the river from Sej to Alessia as an Argonian. I don't get why they had to nerf that.

    Argonian is still bis for pvp healers in a lot of builds. In pvp you want to build quite tanky and doing so will leave less room for offensive stats. The 6% with the ritual mundus stacked with other %healing done boost (mending/vitality) will stack nicely. Also the potion passive is nice under your block and adding 1k stam will just add to that.

    The potion cooldown is 60 seconds now? Where was that said, honestly I probably missed it.

    Pure esthetics and maybe RP and nostalgia (every other TES game I played Argonian and sometimes a Khajiit).

    Idk, Elder Scrolls games are kinda unique in terms of who can you play as. In 99.99% of cRPGs it is either a Human "dude" or Elf. Sometimes Dwarf. But Eldre Scrolls brings something unique. In DOS 2 - same thing - you could play as lizard. In upcoming BG3 there will also be plenty of playable races to chose from and at least one will be "beast" race. I love when games do that. That they do not chose "easy re-skin" mode and make "clone" races with different hair / eyes / skin texture and they call it a day. When there is an actual effort placed to make each race look different. Even in DOS2, each race had different body type model, different skeleton, animation set and armour models. That is how you should do it.

    As for the racial passives - this is definitely not the reason (when it comes to Argonians).
    If I were to min-max I think I would pick only Orcs, Bretons and Dunmers... #SeemsBalanced
