Are these ever going to be brought in as a usable weapon? And no the fighters guild ability isn't what I'm referring to.

TES fans have been asking for them since they were removed from every main game post Morrowind.

What's wrong with Silver Shards? It is a viable weapon, I use a lot, because its just fun. It is quite effective if you have enough Stamina to run it well.

I wonder why they are so slow to add to base things..like hairstyles, new weapons, being able to change your hair colour without spending 1000 crowns, character model updates,..we have been using the same things for years..

Only things that get added are dlc and crown store items.

I was hoping this would be the new “system” that we were getting with the new chapter but guess not...

Skyrim has crossbows. In Dawnguard DLC.

Let's be extremely precise in our use of terms.

so basically one game - TES 4: Oblivion- is 'every'game post Morrowind that he's saying crossbows have been removed? lol

I'm pretty sure that Morrowind and Skyrim are actually the only TES games with crossbows as a weapon type, full stop.

Doesn't mean I wouldn't want to see them in ESO. I had a chance to ask Rich Lambert about adding new weapon types a few years ago, and he said that there were some technical hurdles they needed to overcome before they could consider adding new weapons. I'm not holding my breath.

    WHY?

Is it just for the look of the thing?

Or do you foresee skills that the bow lacks?

Bearing in mind they already broke all the laws of reality by turning the bow into a semi automatic projectile weapon (yeah I get it's fantasy..)

(The real trade off is crossbow is very slow but gives power and range to the untrained / war bow is faster but requires you to do weight-lifting from the age of 4yrs)

    So what is the attraction?

I'm not against it: just interested...

Because they’re trying keep it simple and make the most margins. ZoS treats game as a Buisness as it is. If they can get away rehashing models and content and tossing majority of mounts and styles into crown store they will. Only way it stops if players stopped playing or buying stuff. Look at that silly marvel game that died. Monotization and lack content murdered it. ZoS will push yearly content stuff to keep players engaged while routing most of fluff to crownstore and not in game. I bet if we did comparison of how many ingame mounts vs crown store we would see crown store see’s 80-90%

Ideas on the new skills that wouldn't be redundant and/or unbalanced?

Hmm, I'm not sure PVP would enjoy higher damage long range attacks.. but I'm all for it.

I've never had any interest in crossbows. Slow to load, slow to fire, molasses to reload. And in this game, I don't even use a normal bow, unlike in WoW and RIFT - and Skyrim.

Not a great option here for normal pve questing.
