If the current PTS patch were to go live as-is, I think it would actually have the opposite effect in many cases. Especially if you wanted to play a more "traditional" Magicka build with stat sets in light armor.

Thing is; from what I read heavy is still gonna be king; and that heavy has Mad phys mitigation.

Meaning, if you want to hope to make a dent (if at all) id think mag is the way to do it

No, unless you somehow play in heavy the current pts patch favors stamina. At least in my opinion.

Light Armor now has "penalties", but Medium Armor doesn't. That should tell you everything you need to know.

I think for you average perma misting mag build heavy is going to be the way for sure, since then you dont have to worry about things like sprint speed redux and dodge cost increase.
Also you can run a couple of light armor pieces and get like 1800 pen , which is pretty nice.

If anything heavy is going to be a little worse off for some stam builds that dont utilise sword and board and blocking heavily.
    But only a little.

The -magic resist should go on medium armor and heavy armor should get +1% magic/physical resist per piece. Its ridiculous medium armor has no penalties. Light armor is already the squishiest armor type and will now take even more damage from all the stamtards in Cyrodiil. Yay for Elder Stamina Online :expressionless:

The changes to CP, weapon passives, and yes the armor changes DO give me some hope for magicka in PVP.

... After a few more patches, when they finally get to where they seem to be going. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
