Could gold spam finally have been eliminated tonight?

Because, dare I say it, I haven't seen even the tiniest bit of gold spam all tonight. And even today, there was just one scraggler left, with two lines of completely incoherent symbol chat that actually made me laugh at the level of its pathetic-ness.

Did you move into a higher level zone? The spammers become really really rare once you get out of whatever area the first main city is in. Daggerfall for DC, not sure about others.

I got a few spam in my guild mail section, but even if they keep things clean in /zone that will be a huge step forward. I mean, how were peeps not in megaguilds supposed to sell their wares in the chat, and how were we even supposed to get teams going around all the gold spam we were having? It was impossible.

But I haven't seen a single bit of gold spam in /zone across all three factions tonight, and if Zenimax keeps it up, they deserve a round of applause.

I have had several 1-2 day holes in spam and then it starts up again - its been mainly mail spam lately.

Upon considering it - I got one spam email tonight. I have given up reporting spam reguarly because I don't think ZOS is paying attention and there have been too many reports of support getting confused and banning people who report spam for me to take the risk.

The next thing they need to do is target the bots in public dungeons. The last update didn't make a dent. I'm optimistic they will get it taken care of. I love the game so far!!

The Chinese public holiday is 1st of May so no, that's not the reason.

I think Zeni are really pulling out all the stops to crack down on these sellers.

Also it's not only China that does this you know.

Okay, I have seen a couple single-line or dual-line discombombulated attempts at breaking through the spam filter tonight in Daggerfall, but still, it's worlds better than what it was. And the biggest joke is that these desperate gold farmers have to make their messages so truncated and symbolized that you can't tell what websites they're advertising anyway.

I'm cool with that, although it would be the coolest if Zenimax gets the last bit of spam buttoned down too.

I too have seen very few gold sellers today. I think that we have not seen the last of them yet, however I hope they have been dealt a big blow. Time will tell and if they are not gone for good at least they will be short lived. Maybe in a year we can reminisce about "that gold spam that went like -*---*---..."

Finally after 4 days on the starter island, catching rare fish (bugged STILL) i went to AD mainland, forgot the name is was 1am when i got there, and BAM! my ignore list doubled.

They are still there... It seems even more than before now.

Instead of gold selling spam in chat, I now instead get it in emails xD oh well, just glad to see less spam in chat.

Edit: Actually I take back what I said, chat is still spammed to hell with gold sellers tonight, it was nice while it lasted though.

It's not eliminated, but it definitely looks like they had to take a few hours off to work around a new filter. And boy-oh-boy is it a good one, because I can't even make out a URL in most of the spam posts now.

Yeah. :'( Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water....or re-enable /zone chat.... Now they're almost as bad as ever. Somehow they have broken through again.

Oh, and because I missed those earlier posts: stop ignoring gold-sellers. They use throwaway accounts that will be banned within a few minutes of you seeing the chat.
