So, my uber* robe turned PINK when I made it BLUE

It looks like the Embroidery materials have a bit more bleach than they should. I crafted a really cool looking dark red robe, tried it on, looked great. Upgraded it to Blue (item quality) and when I put it on again, it was PINK! Wth?

OK, the real reason why I started this thread is because I cannot fathom why after countless MMORPGs, new games like this one come out without the ability to see how an item would look like on our character before we put it on. In fact, we should be able to see how a to-be-upgraded item will look on our character before we upgrade it.

Why should I gamble with my crafting materials and my Binds-on-Equip items?
(And don't get me started on why we can't dye our armour/clothes...)

That is all (for now).

You are reffering to Redguard gear right? One thing that will maybe help, if you make a new char. you have the option to look at the vetaran gear of a char (race/class). So maybe in this way you can be a little bit prepared? ^^

    lol what's wrong with pink?
Don't worry, wearing pink won't make you "catch the gay".

I can make vet level armor right now & I'm only level 48.
    How? Experimentation my friend.

What happens if all 8 character slots are full? *coughs* ...I'm a Roleplayer who has alt-itis and I WTB more character slots.. Buuuut anyways, YES I really think we need a way to preview items before we make/buy/upgrade them! ^-^

Them previews are really bad, I am wearing veteran breton light armor I crafted (blue quality) and I can say it loks nothing at all like the preview in char creation, I suspect the images in char creation are vet 10 gold quality items..

No. I'm referring to Breton. And the Preview does not show you all the variations of the upgrades. It shows you one of the versions.

In fact, that was the reason why I rolled a Breton. Which is another flaw of the game, as it makes you think you have to be a Breton to wear Breton clothes.

I experienced the same thing, and my belt buckle is now purple and shiny!! So puurty :p

I wrote to Zeni countless times during the beta period and through the beta surveys, stating that we should be able to change the colour of our armor, at least when creating it ourselves (and maybe even the rest of our appearance at some later point in the game, like they have in Skyrim).

Fingers crossed that when enough ppl have given the same feedback they'll make it possible, AND hopefully it'll be asap
