I decided. for the first time ever, to take a look at doing scouting missions.

The mission was to scout Glademist farm. I studied the map for 10 minutes. Its not listed. There's a Glademist keep, but no structures anywhere near it that might suggest a farm.

google said it was NW of Chorrel. My mouse overs found various farms and other places of interest, but no Glademist farm.

So I dropped the quest and left Cyro to go do something that was actually fun.

It's too bad making the quest active in your journal doesn't put a big white quest marker on your map and your compass.

Seriously, though, unless you're DC, you probably didn't want to go all the way to Glade.

been a mixed bag for me, but the one particular battleground stands out.

solo queue for my 1k medals quest on pcEU. get chaos ball. sigh heavily. proceed to try to get the ball, and/or try to chase down the holder of the ball and kill them - just trying to get my 1k medals, you know? realize with surprise that all 3 teams are more or less evenly matched in our potatoeness and definitely invested in actual objective playing/working as a team.

the match is close..... went the entire 15 minutes, and the top team kept switching. ended up winning at the last second with 2 teams at the top both having 480 medals, and the reason we won, cause teammate managed to grab the ball in the last minute when we were still 30 points behind - last second ran out while we still had the ball. I'm sorry I cannot remember your name, but you are my hero.

I'm STILL grinning over that match, cause possibility of matches like that is the only reason I still give pvp a go every once in a while.

Honestly I just enjoy the double AP, and defending nodes against everyone who opposed the covenant. Nothing like roaming with your crew, making every red you see dead.

I run builds VERY similar to what I might use soloing in PvE. And I anyway lack the ability to move and shoot at the same time. So head to head with a real PvPer, I surely will get mashed.

But I actually had a "keep defense" success today! I mapped into an outpost intending to ride out, and discovered an attack was just starting. I and the one other alliance member there tipped some flaming oils, which served to slow down the invasion. I also fired the occasional skill at the enemies below. The ally and I rezzed each other once each, and held out collectively for a quite a few minutes. We WERE eventually swarmed -- but our side showed up moments later and reestablished control, something that would have been much more difficult had the attackers not originally been delayed. :)

Yay: Killed a bomber in IC after they'd killed half of my pug group. Got a heap of telvar off them

Nay: dc'd out of Gray Host (of course) while running up to an ongoing battle, got put back into queue when it finally let me login again :disappointed:

I killed 180+ [snip] without a single death. Love the event!

That's cool and all but how many actual PvPers did you kill without a single death? Bet you can't even touch a magsorc.

This one time I got snared and killed by a stealth Nightblade.

On another occasion I got snared and killed by a stealth Nighblade and they killed me before I could move.

Then this other time I got killed by a stealthed Nighblade who murdered me before I could get up.

And then the really funny one was when I got rooted by stealthed Nightblade and killed.

Oh, and this other time when my entire group died to Vicious Death while looting a Dolmen treasure chest. Mad skillz right there.

    Good times.

    I hate it.

Thank you all for sharing your stories, with exception of the tough guy braggarts. My story is an all too common one but I digress. I sallied forth onto the battle field, chose my opponent and let him know with some sort of an inadequate attack that I would like to parlay with him. As we square up I promptly get mowed down from behind by his faction mates..lol!

Just here for the tickits ,run like hell try my best to avoid the pvp lifers and get the daily done as quick as possible and get out (you notice the word fun was not mentioned in that last sentence)

If i get caught i holster my staff and let them kill me and try again, it takes a while but atleast it does not give them the satisfaction of winning a fight.

Just a pity it takes so long to load back in once your dead especially in IMP city that and remembering which ladder to take

@Miszou ahahah sorry to laugh at that but your comment cracked me up! I'm probably the most awkward NB in the whole game so when an NB kills me I rejoice because I see a light at the end of the tunnel :D

@Pauwer I'm aware of the many issues that players report but for me, the game goes mostly smoothly (I'm on XBOX btw). Break free works alright, sometimes skills do not fire (especially Impale for some reasons..) but I don't know if its due to game performance or me smashing too many buttons in panic.

Anyway, yesterday I had great fun, I'm finding IC more enjoyable than Cyrodiil because it's easier for this potato to hide better in those small spaces. Also, many players + many Daedra = you press LA/HA, you're going to *always* hit something, ain't that a satisfaction?!

I've got loads of boxes and unlocked magicka detonation that I'll try tonight (my fondest dream is to bomb, but I failed miserably at every attempt so far). Potatoes were defending each other on the zone chat to the extent that one offender actually apologised. I also got teabagged by a skeleton, not sure what to make of that since they lack, well, you know.

The evening ended like this, look how peaceful she is <3

I walked out of the EP base to see an AD playing the esraj. I couldn't decide if it was a trick or not, so I stealthed past...then whispered them to ask what they were doing. Turns out they were too lazy to go all the way back to their base and were hoping someone would kill them. We bowed to each other, and I did my duty.

That's my favourite story of this event so far, because the rest of it is just either me getting murdered repeatedly because I'm on my PvE magblade and didn't change my clothes (False God's isn't a good PvP set, who knew), or me utterly failing to help my alliance because I'm a healer trying to heal folks who aren't in my group. RIP.

It absolutely does, though??? Both on the normal map and the transitus map? Like I literally just checked and there's a giant quest marker right there.

I have been killing district bosses with the idea that if people wont attack me I will not attack them either. There was this one boss which I was killing with an enemy player. I was tanking the boss at first but suddenly the agro changed and the boss attacked the other guy. He almost died and he run away behind the corner to heal. I tought I'd use the moment to use a bit more powerful skills now that I didnt have to be careful with the cleave damage.

The poor guy returned much faster than I expected with only half of his health and I one-shotted him with cleave damage  In the end I think he got the loot but I robbed his telvars and he had to make it back to the district from the alliance base.

    "What colour was I again?"

...after walking straight up to the wrong keep for fast-travel.

LOL done that a few times myself. For the most its all been fun and getting killed doesn't bother me that much. Dust myself off and run like a mad fool either trying to do the quests in IC or in Cryodill. Although I was chuffed with myself and made my way to a farm on the other side of the map that I needed to get a report on, managed to flip it over to Daggerfall, get my report done and then I was ganked by EP, but at least I got the quest done :D

The initial fun of trying out PvP wore off pretty fast. Almost wanted to give up on the event.

But today I discovered that with a full Daloc Brae set my stamblade crafter can stay invisible forever, unless I interact with stuff, of course. While in stealth, the set restores stamina, magicka and health, so I remain at full stamina while sneaking and can spam cloak the entire time, as long as I time it precise enough. I sneaked past two enemy zergs in IC and several players almost ran me over without even noticing. Just please don't use magelight, okay? :D

The most aggravating part of this whole event has been "jump failed, you are already queued for that campaign" every time I try to climb a ladder into a district. I can handle getting jumped by 57 AD every time I interact with an object, that's what I expect in a PvP zone, but the inability to use a ladder is a new depth of incompetence on my poor character's behalf.

I am truly amazed at how impervious some players are to damage! It’s not CP (or not always) either as I encounter these in BGs as well. I can attack from stealth with an ult and that’s shrugged off and then I’m dead in two hits! :dizzy:

I encountered true ball groups for the first time this event — a mass of players moving together, so synchronized, bringing massive aoe and proximity damage with them! It’s like a force of nature — in its path you are dead dead but you can stand outside and watch, untouched. They do not care, for you aren’t capping the flag from that vantage point!

On the other end of the spectrum, I was caught off guard by a solo bomber who had remained hidden and then wiped most of the group while we were repairing the door! At first I was stunned that someone had ported through the remaining gap in the door, as I thought! It didn’t make a difference in the cap and they died instantly too, but they must have a truly impressive kill count!

I got killed today for the first time while doing a scouting mission. (Usually I see no one...scouting is easy). I was a lone blue riding through red territory heading for a red farm when I passed a lone red riding in the other direction. I kept going, but when realized I was taking damage, I whirled around and leapt off my horse to engage in battle.

He or she was, naturally, better than me. After a short skirmish, I was vanquished and face down in the dirt. No matter! I soon set out again on my trusty steed, and this time It was mission accomplished.

It really does bring things into perspective does it not? This is also why immovable potions and mistform is so nice in PVP because it makes it possible to get out of the way of ball groups! I've learned they charge for your faction's "center of mass" and not the individual people themselves until it's only really the individuals off to the side that are left.

As for the bombers they use sets like Vicious Death paired with abilities like Proximity Detonation, Blood Frenzy, and powerful AoE ultimates!

I stopped to read a lore book in Cyrodiil in blue territory, I was actually reading aloud to my partner when I started taking damage. I guess I should pay more attention and not hang around with nose in a book. Was left a splat.
