PVE Gear in Cyro

I noticed a lot of people saying you "Can't" wear PVE Gear in Cyro/IC/Battlegrounds. I don't really agree on that.

I'm lazy and hate changing my gear; so I try to stick with stuff that works decently in both aspects of ESO.

Now granted I wouldn't use Rele in PVP because it makes no sense but pulls incredible DPS in PVE; but throwing on Aegis Caller/VO/Pillars/Syvarras or any of the other million Proc Sets + a Sustain Sets + using at least one CC/Stun + Self Heal will make you decently survivable and able to pull decent DPS.

I use the same gear for Vet DLC Challenger Achievements that I take into Cyro. You won't be a PVP God and you won't pull insane DPS numbers but if you're lazy like me it works okay.

Lot of people mention things like Impen being necessary; but idk I never really get ganked or 1 shot; so either everyone just uses Malacath now (I use all Divines/Infused/Well Fitted) or it's not that big of a deal.

Just think a lot of PVE people are locking themselves out of really fun content because they think they "Might" not be good at PVP/think it's annoying to have to create two different sets for different content.

99% of the time when someone says you "can't" do a thing, what they really mean is "you won't be optimal" while doing it.

A lot of the "don't bring your PVE gear" advice
has to do with not rolling into PVP thinking that a 19k health DPS build that slaughters dungeon bosses is going to do great against players who don't follow mechanics and do have non-telegraphed burst damage.

If you bring your PVE build to Cyro, you want something more well-rounded that's, as you say, "decently survivable and able to pull decent DPS." PVP has a lot more in common with the flexibility needed for VMA or vVateshran than it does content that needs min-maxed DPS.

Right now, between ZOS adding crit resistance to battle spirit, a proc set meta, and malacath's making crit damage less frequent, its easier than ever to bring a PVE build into Cyrodiil and do fairly well.

I think the gear issue is one of the reasons that PVP events have so many issues. To do a PVE event as a PVPer, you basically just show up. To do a PVP event as a PVEer, you have to buy PVP gear, at least make it purple, change CP, possibly change stats, maybe new food/potions.

I think PVP events (and maybe always) should have a "intro to PVP" campaign where you can select from a couple of gear sets, and there are a few recommended attributes and CP loadouts that you can try. So everyone in this campaign is roughly optimized for PVP without investing gold. And when you leave the campaign, your PVE build is still there. Then when people are ready to create their own build, they can move on to the other campaigns.
