Any idea what the CP conversion to 2.0 will be?

Those on PTS, any insight as to how CP converts from 1.0 to 2.0

For example what is 810 CP in the new system, what is 1000 CP, 1200 CP, from new to old?

That seems odd, how can the normalize the xp curve for CP if it is a 1:1 transfer?

The sad part, if they go 1:1, is that from what I saw, leveling up from nothing to the new cp 1200 will take as much time as leveling up to cp ~650 on live.

Meaning that new players will catch up to veterans really, really fast.

I hope so, I see way too many players get stuck in that 650 to 810 lull. Where they have a solid idea of how to play but are stuck grinding. Just because I had to grind my way to cp 1100 does not mean everyone else should have to suffer.

Comparing my live account to pts (814 live, 812pts as I leveled up a couple times since they copied chars) on pts I need ~672,000 for next level and on live I need ~674,000. From what I can tell no scaling adjustment or experience curve changes have been made as of now.

well now you will probably get stuck in the lull from cp 1500 to 2700 to get a modicum of useful perks out of the new system

I still see way too many players who are cp 810+ and think light attack weaving is a sin.

It looks like you need 2040 CP for all damage + mitigation CP, that will probably be the new standard for trials.

I'm editing my message to remove one of the pictures I shared since I can't check if the information are true. ZoS mentioned that they would lower the curve, but the required exp seems to be exactly the same on PTS for now, even after CP 1200. An other oversight? The max level templates are only 810 at the moment.

I still see way too many players who are cp 810+ and think light attack weaving is a sin.

The difference then was that when they increased the CP cap, we all had a power increase, and it was faster for the new players to get there.

Now it looks like you need 2040 CP for all damage + mitigation CP, that will probably be the new standard for trials.

It looks like 2040 cp with the new system is roughly 300m exp. With 300m exp on live you should be getting close to cp 1000.

CP 1000 on the new system is around roughly 90 millions.

With a 1:1 conversion. It means that you'll need to farm more than 200m to get there. Bringing your total to more than 500m. While a new player will only need 300m.

The issue is that when we look at this, I know my values are very approximative, but it feels like you lost 200m experience, that you need to get back to be at endgame trial standard again.

I guess they needed a way to get veteran players excited about double exp events again. Or maybe they just needed to sell more exp scrolls...I'll finally have a use for the stockpile of the things I've been collecting from daily log-ins.

Oh, joy. I love grinding mobs for months on end just to be able to do the same content I was already doing the previous patch. Zos, isn't it enough that between patches I already have to change my class, race, skills and farm the latest gear?

People getting excited about the new CP system are nuts. It's a massive nerf. Currently we have 200 splittable passives. After CP 2 we will only have 6 I believe

Honestly, it feels really disrespectful how they are treating veterans. The new cp levelling system will literally erase years of progress. People who've played the game for ages, will not even be half of the way to max level now. Personally I will not grind another 1k cp, just so I am once more at cap - I would sooner quit the game.

Has there been official confirmation they they are definitely *not* recalculating CP across the board when the system changes? The PTS isn't generally perfectly implemented from day 1..

If there is that much XP difference between the two systems this most definitely needs addressing, surely..?

It was before my time but were VR ranks converted to their associated CP allocation based on xp when the system changed?

If I recall correctly, all XP gained after hitting VR 16 was completely lost.

This time, they at least gave us credit at some conversion rate for all XP gains.

As it is being presented no it does not erase progress, it modifies it and provides more progress both vertically and horizontal.

No one is losing CP over this, how they work will be different but it is nothing like "erasing" progress.

the amount of cp you have divide it by 3 and that amount you have for each main tree is very simple. you have 1800 cp then you have 600 cp for tree

But the question is...can i be the SAME tank that I am now with 1310 cp (810) with the new system??
The same dps?? The same healer??

    If not...its a nerf and a disaster.

@Sgrug Of course your progress will be erased. If the chart provided above is accurate, then a player who has earned around 500 mil xp pre update will have the same amount of champion points as a new player who has earned only 100 mil xp.
Just because you don't actually lose points, doesn't mean the work put into your account isn't devalued.

I have ben playing the game since launch. All XP gained after reaching VR10, 12, 14 and 16 was useless untill the cap was raised. But did I consider it a "waste of progress"? Absolutely not, I still had fun! And learned my characters's skills (somewhat). Now we'll finally be able to put to use those XP scrolls, potions, and events, and all the CP we have been accumulating over 810 - and if new people can catch up faster, so much the better.

Another way of looking at this would be:
Because I have already lost both my youth and my will to live in the gruelling grind to reach cp1100, why shouldn't my cp be raised to cp2500 so I don't have to farm mobs all over again?
I don't want to force new players to grind like we did, I just don't want to be forced to grind cp again myself.
I'm perfectly ok with it being easier for new players to catch up. Reduce the cp cap to 810 for all I care, just don't make me farm zombies again - when I try to sleep at night, I still get skyreach and alikir flashbacks.

And yet some of us want to gain CP. Why exactly should someones desire to stop all vertical progression be counted more than someone who wants to have this? Especially since growth is usually desired and not something to be shunned.

And not because you lack points but not all things we took for granted all these years can be slotted in only 4 slots per tree
