One thing to be aware of if you do this: crown store purchases do not carry over to the other server but your crown balance does.
Anything you buy outside the game (like ESO+ or chapters purchased through the website) is available on both servers, and that includes any crowns that you buy. But once you spend them they're gone from both servers and whatever you purchase is only available on the one you're logged into at the time.
So if you're not committing to the EU server yet you might want to avoid buying anything from the crown store and switch to NA to get anything you do want to buy.

So my question is, is it because I actually live in the US? Should I not invest too much into this EU account? Should I just try to clean up my NA mess and salvage it?

You're a farmer, no?

Not even close.I'm an altaholic, and ran out of space on the EU server.

Oh god!!!... The only real benefit I can see from playing on US server when everyone is asleep(typically EU daytime) is that you get to farm pristine nodes with no other farmers around. And in the evening you can sell it for mucho moolah in the guild stores...

If you're close to the EU-US backbone connection hubs, the network lag shouldn't be much of a problem. The bigger problem is maybe with yourself. You need to understand yourself and what you really want. Usually the people in the US playing on EU servers do it because EU servers are way more populated and can get groups much faster than on the US servers. But you'd be playing on odd times for living in the US. I think, if you want to have a normal life in the US, you should probably use the NA server, and sort yourself out instead of looking for other servers to help with your problem..

Wow this is... so much incorrect assumptions lol.
I'm a solo player and couldn't care less about how many people are on. If anything, fewer the better.
As I explained in the OP, the REAL reason (if you bothered to read it) is I wanted a fresh start without losing progress and becoming overwhelmed on the NA side. (Which has 18 characters and half of them I dunno what I was doing with)
You are right, it's about me sorting myself out, but you're wrong about what parts.

"a fresh start without losing progress" -By swithching servers??? - Not possible... And that's simply how it works from a technical point of view.

Losing progress on the NA side. Please read my posts fully before attacking, thank you.
