are new servers going to wipe our accounts clean?

concerned about these new servers.
if they wipe everything from upgrades to crown store items we've brought, they don't seem worth it, and I think something like that would put a lot of people off playing if something like 3 years of money put into the game got wiped clean. I'd like some form of conformation that everything will be safe and myaccount on EU wont be purged of everything I own. I dont mind skill points or champion points needing to be reallocated, but if my crown store purchases along with chapters and dlc's where wiped clean, I dont think I'd want to play this game anymore

They've upgraded the PC/EU servers before without issues.

Where is this concern coming from, though? Who said anything about account details being wiped?

They can't legally do what you are suggesting. We loose nothing when they upgrade the servers.....

That would be the death of ESO if they wiped everything, they would likely lose the entirely of the older player-base, imagine the response of players who had rare items you could no longer obtain and who had spent thousands of dollars on this game and have put in thousands of hours of work only to lose everything.

    No, why would it??

It would kill the entire player base. Nobody would log on and start again. Especially if you lost stuff you paid for...

Sorry about your anxiety. Generally when it comes to server refresh, the new servers are set up and configured. Data, applications, and such are installed or copied. There is generally a cutover if the new stuff is stable, tested and working. Once the cutover is complete the old servers are decommissioned. That's kind of a big generalizations but unless a disaster happened and Zenimax has a sorry disaster recovery plan, you would not lose your stuff.

I think that "legally" they could. But they would never do it, because they know it would be a huge public relations disaster, not to mention the loss of most of their playerbase.

You can change your motherboard / graphics card / processor without touching your storage.

Why should that situation be any different?

Could you imagine the negative repercussions if they did something like that? It would hit them very hard in reputation and financially. It won't happen.

Gina straight up said players won't really notice anything, this is a hardware update to make sure they don't have hardware failures in years to come since they're on the same physical devices they started with in 2014. Don't worry, this isn't servers like player partition things (eg Earthen Ring in Wow, Tarnished Coast in GW2). This is physical equipment that they need to replace. The software will all migrate. Same way you can copy your files to a new computer.

There is a Rumour going around that only Players who have an Radiant Apex Mount will not get their accounts wiped.

I was going to reply with "Are you nuts???" when I read the title, but I get it.

No, don't worry about losing your data. They can transfer the game to upgraded servers without us losing anything.

It's just the hardware that is getting upgraded. In theory there's no way the content should get lost.

    ...In theory.

No we won't lose everything I think, what they will do is transfer everything over to the new server. Kind of how they did with the pc players that wanted to move over to consoles when they released the console version of the game.
Of course they won't wipe everything, it will all be fine. Unless of course something goes wrong, but even then they will likely address the issue. The thing is the new servers are meant to upgrade the specs from 2014ish. Which the servers have been running on for a while and its good they are doing it as it might help out with performance quite a bit. THough the devs said it likely wouldn't change things with performance.
Thus its something to look forward too.

Heard it on Fox news. Seriously it isn't an issue. Servers will be backed up multiple times and transfered over
