Can companion farm for us? I can assign my companion to follow me and farm for dreugh wax and tempering alloy. Oh wait. Does it mean companion is an official ZOS bot? Army of BOTS?
People already complain that overland is too easy and most base game world bosses can be soloed on a level 20 if you know what youre doing. Dont really want to drag around an NPC and listen to their dumb remarks
I’m psyched for them! I loved them in other games.
Hope you'll be able to get new ones through quests, but somehow I'm afraid they'll become crown store items like the house guests.

Sarayn Andrethi, Telvanni mage (Main)
Darvasa Andrethi, his "I'm NOT a Necromancer!" sister
Malacar Sunavarlas, Altmer Ayleid vampire
Soris Rethandus, a Sleeper not yet awake
I think I will wait till they come out to save my full opinion, but I can see one pro and one con to it immediately.
Pro - I tend to run my builds through normal overland content as I make them, instead of changing everything up when I'm maxed out, so I can make sure I have my rotations down (plus memorizing when to use certain stuff until it's second nature for Undaunted dungeons to be easier). Downside to this is when I'm running a pure group tank that does zilch damage, it takes forever to do even the most basic delve. Sure this is argued to be "NoT tHe WaY tO dO tHiNgS" but, it's how I do it, so having a companion who can handle some DPS would actually be a huge plus for me when I run my tanks.
Con - Going into towns for anything that requires me to select something (crafting tables, merchants, etc) constantly get blocked by people with winged twilights and warden bears. Would this companion also block me from doing stuff as well? That sounds like another pain to an existing problem. We haven't had a solution to these combat pets yet, even though people can turn them off in towns and cities they choose not to.
Xbox NA EST (10pm-3am hours) - Find me In-Game @Saccopharynx
I like the idea, it adds to the immersion and perhaps it can be like in the other TES games where followers have interesting things to say based on the location you're questing. And they can always add on it, like the Antiquities. Would be also cool if they come with their own personal quest-line that unlocks after a while. The upcoming companions are not returning characters, but in the future they might be, which could be pretty cool, questing alongside Naryu or Stuga lol.
I couldn't care less if they have anything to bring on the combat side tbh, but a help in soloing dungeons would be a nice bonus. Some people on this forum are obsessed with forcing solo players to group just because that's their favourite playstyle. It's time to understand that people play and are attracted to this game for various reasons.
