So the new companions can be used anywhere except arenas and PvP? Including dungeons?

Here's hoping my girlfriend and I can finally duo a few more of these and enjoy the story at our own pace. :D

    Yeah, the possibility of using these to help with soloing 4-person dungeons is intriguing. I was really, really hoping they'd finally get a story mode created, but this might... maybe... work. Maybe.

    Should not be allowed for dungeons or Trials, ruins the balance of the game. Are healers and buff sets going to become useless now? 12 man trial and everyone puts their bot on healer mode and gives them all the passive sets that don't require any skill to use(ebon,worm,hircine etc.) and no need for healers anymore.

    Please god please let them be usable in dungeons so people will stop their whinging they can't do everything solo in an MMO.

    Then it'll just be complaining they can't do trials instead. :D

    I missed the part but do they take up a group slot? If not I can see dungeons ending up with 8 characters over 4.

    Why companions in a mmo game? This game is just so casual... nothing for end game players.

    That depends on whether you can use them in addition to players or in stead of players. Ie, can you have 4 people in a dungeon plus their companions or can the companions only take the place of a "missing" player. Because if the latter you're o way off the mark and nothing at all have changed, and from the little we got it sounded like that is the answer.

    What do you mean finally something for solo players?

    This ENTIRE game is littered with features for solo players, so much to the point that grouping is basically all but discouraged.

    You could always join a guild which does organised "no companions" runs. ;)

    In all seriousness I doubt they'd be powerful enough to use in vet dungeons or trials and that's fine. I just want something to help me get something like "story mode" in normal dungeons.

    Perhaps the Companions will work as substitutes, filling in a spot when groups only have two or three players so they won't have to wait for the Group Finder. That would seem convenient, but also leaves you with a distinct dps disadvantage. Still though they could make your companions pretty tanky and help draw aggro away from you.

    But this just means players that do have companions, will ALWAYS have them out, meaning that many more entities clogging your screen in player hubs.

    They don't need to be powerful to wear ebon worm hircine, they just need to stand there and everyone gets the buffs.

    I really like the idea of these companions. I love that they apparently have quests and lore connected to them that we can explore (Come on, let us romance them...)

    Well if they are there just to replace real players then it wont matter since a bot will never be able to replace a real player, unless we are talking about a potato player lol

    if there anything like TOR they will replace a player and if a group is full will not be able to be summoned/spawn or however they will work.

    No bots in the Dungeon Finder. That should be reserved for human players only. Don't want to run a random dungeon or pledges with a bot. Guild mates and friends aren't alway on to make a group either.

    At this point just let it be. I play other games for challenge. ESO these days is only good for some low effort or low pressure stuff.

    I love the idea of having an AI companion! Their play schedule perfectly mirrors my own, they stay in character and I'm anxiously looking forward to the roleplay potential they offer those of us who prefer to solo. And those who don't care for the idea don't have to use them. :)

    Thats like me saying if you like AI companions go play Skyrim and don't play ESO which is an MMO.

    Problem is not that there is AI companions, problem is what they are capable of doing and where they are allowed to be brought with, dungeons and trials and in those they are sure to cause some problems since players refuse to change their trusty companions to suit the groups style.

    I'm a solo player and this adds nothing for me.

    Virtually all solo content is already mind numbingly easy - except veteran solo arenas, where you won't be able to use companions.

    Yes, but this would be a boon for people who would like to experience group dungeons, but for whatever reason can't find a full group to do so with.

    Why people must play with thouse who can easely be replaced by bots?

    If they "listened to the players" there would be hundreds of dragon-shouting dovahkin riding their flying dragon mounts everywhere.

    There are changes wanted by endgame players that would basically ruin the game for anyone who wasn't. There are changes that hardcore PvP players want that would make the pve players leave in droves. Finding a balance between content for a very mixed demographic isn't going to please those people on the sides of the Venn diagram, but might work well for the group in the middle.

    Apart from the new CP system and a new Trial. Plus the new story content of course, and hopefully the reworking to the CP system will make new content less of a cakewalk for those elite players who can one-hit a new zone blindfolded :wink: !
