Ice blockade used to harass people

By now, there are people that made use of the bug, that the ice blockade keeps crashing people in pvp and also in open world...

They are harassing people by intentionaly casting it to make them crash.

Please do something about it ZoS...

Obviously, ZOS should fix the bug. You can report the person who's doing it to harass people - though it'll probably be easier to prove in PVE than if it's an enemy player in PVP.

PVP is so large in scale (at least in Cyrodiil) I wouldn't come to the conclusion they're deliberately doing it unless you see the same people together constantly using the skill at the same time. Also it's obvious to tell if people are grouped since they can actually heal each other.

They don't have right to ban people because of their mistake. People have right to spam unstable wall of frost as much as their magicka pool allows them to.
Reporting people for that no matter what their intention may be is ridiculus.
I can't report people who throw mudball on me, right?
    It exist in game.

I just did that to test what was claimed to be fixed. And clearly it was not because people still crash. Problem here is not "They" i.e. players who are trying to test the fix, problem is ZOS' inability to fix the critical bug that has been reported and left unattended for 3 months now.

A lot of bugs have. It's getting to the point where I don't trust the patch notes that @ZOS_GinaBruno posts.

Actually, yes, repeated mudballing may be reported as harassment. Particularly if you are asked to stop and you do not.

I've seen a few in game as well, but not as many as I had expected to see (prior to knowing the outrageous overprice of them). I recently got the mud ball memento... muahahhahah mud balls for every elk rider I can catch!!!! Mud balls of my discontent.. and ridicule.. >:)

While we assume you're kidding, we want to make it clear that though we understand your feelings regarding the cost of the elk mount, taking it out on other players is not acceptable. This can be considered griefing which can lead to disciplinary action against your game account.

This one is more anecdotal, but here's a reddit post where someone got a warning for repeated mudding: https://amp.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/5ix8f0/psa_mud_balls_can_be_considered_harassment/

In the early game, ZOS banned people who were using restoration spells to interfere with people at dye stations, when a bug briefly screwed that up.

ZOS wound up disciplining people for interfering in duels when there was a glitch that let you heal duel participants.

So, no, just because something exists in game doesn't give you the right to use it to harass other players.

The problem, of course, is proving it. In PVP, I can't see how you'd go about blaming your enemy for using a legitimate skill against you in battle. But in PVE, say if you have people casting the bugged skill together in a marketplace in the manner that's known to cause crashing? That's pretty deliberate.

This is one of the most ridiculous arguments /thought trains I've seen on these forums ever lol. Yes, they absolutely do have the right to. That's like saying they don't have the right to ban someone for spamming slurs in chat because they made the chat system. Intentional exploit abuse is grounds for punishment

The bug's back again? There used to be a group or 2 in cyrodiil that did nothing but spam wall of elements to crash opposing factions so they could take keeps uncontested.

I am truly sorry there are people experiencing this bug.

As a Warden that has always been an Ice Mage, with back bar heals and front bar ice staff, I've always prided myself on contributing decent damage, providing good buffs and defense, as well as strong heals - Especially as an Ice Mage. For whatever reason, I love the Ice mystique in this game.

I have had this playstyle for last 3 years, and glad to see the class has morphed over time to allow casters to legitimately use ice staff as it should be, a Destro weapon.

I understand the graphical change to frost staff aoe is only very recent. Just because it has had a graphical change, does not mean I am going to use it any less. I am not going to sit in Alinor trade area and spam it though.

But I am genuinely surprised at the logic above that 1) this is reportable 2) that this is deliberate griefing.

I mean, how pathetic a tool to cause grievance, if a game enabled bug was the only way to inconvenience someone else?

That is a developer issue, not player or community.

Yeah I also have a warden ice tank and I would hope no one reports me for simply using it under some sort of claim it's spam/harassment on purpose. You can very easily tell when people are doing things on purpose in this game after all, people who are innocent and just happen to be running blockage shouldn't end up targeted on assumptions.

It is your comparison that is ridiculus.
Could people spam any skill in the past? Yes.
Is it something that the game allows you to do? Yes.
It is not bunny hop or some kind of exploit such in vAS that makes you get easy Immortal Redemeer.
Suddenly wall of frost became an issue? Who is responsible?
    The game, the devs, ZOS!
Not the people who use the skill.

And slurs, curses, any kind of that stuff were a problem and always will be a problem in any game.
You are comparing a game mechanic which was always used in ESO to a something that was never liked neither in MMOs nor on Twitter.

How were they spamming wall of frost? In an actual combat situation or were they just standing stationary.

Because in some situations, especially when retreating or getting through a choke point, it is perfectly viable if someone spams wall of frost for the damage shield.

I wonder if this is what's causing people to crash in almost every dungeon that I run - because I tank with frost staff and blockade? I heard that most of the crashing from Markarth has been fixed, but I'm still seeing a lot of people crashing during dungeon runs. Oh well, I hate it for them if frost blockade is the issue because I'm not changing my setup...
