Maintenance for the week of April 6:

I wish there was some sort of Normal Trial finder...

Not like the Activity Finder, but some kind of Bulletin system you can peruse, like the Guild Finder. Just to see what people want to run.

Maybe on PC there's a cool add-on that helps, but sitting in Craglorn waiting for anyone to have interest in a specific Trial is so terrible.

I can't speak on other Servers, but on PS4 NA, if you're not looking for Cloudrest, Sunspire, or Hel Ra Citadel, then GOOD LUCK.

Was able to find 1 run for Halls of Fabrication in the past week, and I've had my character sitting in Craglorn for hours every day.

It's damn depressing. And I'm sure I'll get comments about joining a Guild, but problem is, I literally just need to finish a set in Halls, and then there's nothing I would do with a Guild. It would be completely taking advantage of them just to get what I want.

Form group yourself and try different instances. Dunno how populated is PS server but on PC/NA during primetime I can get groups for any trial. Just need to ask every instance. If you just sit and wait in Crag it can be a long one. If you're in large guilds, port to other players in Craglorn and you end up in another instance. You'll get groups fast.

Same on PC EU. I rarely run trials, mostly during Witches Festival, but I honestly can see those three anymore. There is AA, SO or MoL occasionally, but if you want to run HoF or AS, looks like nobody runs them and the best you can expect is half a group that gets disbanded after 45 minutes of looking for more people.

I'd love to see something like this too. They have it (or did when I played) in WOW and was a lot of fun. You just queued up at any time that suited you and usually within about 10 minutes you'd be with your raiding team. They were scaled down in skill requirement & gear drops were not as good but it was great for newbies or those who simply didn't have the time to dedicate to a guild raiding group.

Was also a good stepping stone where you could get a bit of an idea of what was going to happen, without making an absolute prat of yourself.

Spamming chat to get a group for a trial is really a bad design.

That being said - Some type of Que system is probably overwhelmingly difficult for ZOS to do.
Just look at the issues with the LFG tool for pledges. It surely is not up to par as you see all the complaints about bugs, and fake roles.

Maybe if they designed the a Que system that looked at players selected Role, slotted skills, and abilities along with the level of those skills and abilities?

Would love to see it for normal trials aswell.

But that que would have to have some sort of check to prevent fake roles.

Could you imagine a fake tank in light armor and no taunt? Would screw over 11 people instead of 3 lol.

This would be an amazing tool to add. Many games have had this in place 15+ years now. Allowing players to browse available content (not just trials necessarily) while in zones other than Craglorn would be fantastic.

It wouldn't automatically make unpopular trials popular, especially in off hours, but it would help a bit.

As far as fake roles, it's not like a standard queue. There is no vote. It still has a leader putting it together as normal. The difference is the group gets posted to a list that players can browse from anywhere. You can post up the content you're doing, roles you're looking for and people hit the button to join. You can either accept or deny them and if they aren't performing (fake tank) you can remove them like any other trial leader can.

Trial finder as suggested would be similar to guild finder... but hopefully with a better interface. You could still zone recruit if you want, but you also have a place to post your grouping request that is viewable gamewide, not just in one zone. That would speed up grouping quite a lot.

I joined a HoF pug a while back but the group wiped on the last boss twice then disbanded. People clearly didn't know mechs.
I've never seen anyone try to fill an nAS, nSO or nAA pug. NMoL is almost as rare as nHoF.

There is no issue with group finder(aside from the occasional bug). You queue up with your desired role, you go into the instance, if someone can't cut it, they either quit or get kicked and you re-queue for a replacement...its a simple system that could easily be expanded to trials. Now, you shouldn't necessarily expect to finish difficult content when queuing up with a group of random people...but as long as you realize that one fact, there should be no issue with a trial finder, whether for vet or normal. If you want to farm some gear and maybe practice...queue up, if you want to complete a trial...make a pre-made...pretty much the same thing you do for vet DLC dungeons.

I agree with this. There’s a Craglorn Trials lead I want but I don’t want to stand around for hours in Belkarth reading zone chat and I’m not going to join a trials guild just for a furnishing lead.

If there was a finder, at least for the Craglorn Trials which are stupidly easy on Normal, then I could go about doing my other stuff while in queue. With 12 people there’s going to be someone who can relay instructions for those that may be new and if miraculously this isn’t the case then watch a YouTube play through with your group mates to get through it.

I agree that at the very least HoF not be on the list of queueable trials.

What? You don't like spamming general chat for LFG? I thought that increased immersion according to boomer MMO players. 😂

Imagine a real tank that chooses to completely ignore the mechanic causing the wipe again and again. Which...
