ESOs Steam DLC showcase and descriptions are a total scam!

If you look into the DLC description they will never tell you the truth! they never make it clear what version of the DLC has the things you want.

For example there are 4 versions of Greymoor on Steam and they are not packages which is unfair for example a lot of people on steam have bought the wrong version assuming they will get the rest of the content but they never make it clear you wont instead you have to go to their own website to actually make sure which is not fair considering not everyone goes to an official website from steam it's literally the point of steam also let's not forget that if you want to buy all the DLCs you will have to re-buy the game twice which is a total scam by itself.

usually games will discount the package price if you have the game but ESO doesn't so you are wasting money if you have the game Even more if you have DLCs.

What's the fix for this?
make them into packages so newcomers know what they are buying and veterans don't have to pay twice for the game and DLCs they have bought.

Some people will suggest Crown Store but that's actually worse it's more expensive that way and certain things wont unlock if you buy DLCs through the crown store like Necromancer class.

Write a ticket to refund the transaction so you can purchase the right version.

I'm not sure what you mean by packages, but I agree the layout of the info could be better. I'm looking at the page on the Steam website (I can't run Steam on my work computer) and it's a bit all over the place.

It does say the two more expensive options include the base game and the previous chapters, so it's clear that you don't need to buy those if you already have all that (or have the base game and don't want the previous chapters) but the only info on the collector's edition items is in a box further down the page (after other items for sale and random news) with 1 tiny picture which makes it hard to see what you're actually getting.

By package i mean taking the DLCs and the game into 1 package and when buying it the package will discount based on what you already have from that package, a lot of steam games do this to prevent people buying the game or dlcs twice.

But ZOS has not, so you are forced to buy the game again or the dlcs you own.

for example a package contains the game and let's say 3 DLCs

and when u have the game and a dlc the package will not include those and will only sell u the dlcs but ZOSs wont, you literally have to buy everything again.

Oh, if you want to avoid buying the base game or previous chapters all you need to do is pick either of the cheaper options.

I thought that part was clear from the fact that the more expensive ones says in the description "Includes The Elder Scrolls Online base game, Greymoor, Elsweyr, Summerset and Morrowind Chapters".

I'm not talking just 1 DLC, i said the package that has the game and the dlcs.

Steam bundles are made up of multiple items that have their own Steam pages. Even if ZOS wanted to do that, it wouldn't work on Steam because the ESO DLC are all on the in-game store for Crowns. And only the current Chapter has a store page.

Also, MMOs do that all the time - only the most recent Expansion is available as an upgrade, while the "complete edition" gets bigger by the previous expansion.

They aren't available on Steam, so you can't get them as a Steam-style bundle. Steam just has the specific "Greymoor Upgrade" and "Greymoor Complete Edition".

As "DLC", they're available in the Crown store, for Crowns. Or for free access with ESO+.

(heck, even the ZOS shop doesn't have the previous Chapters as separate purchases. Greymoor Upgrade & Greymoor Complete are the only options anywhere.)

edit: heck, and not even every game on Steam that has it's DLC listed as separate Steam pages, does the whole "bundle" thing. A couple games I bought during the last Winter sale, won't allow me to grab the remaining DLC as part of the package.

edit2: and how are the descriptions a scam? They descriptions on the Greymoor page are quite clear: Upgrade, Upgrade CE, complete edition, complete edition CE. "Includes The Elder Scrolls Online base game, Greymoor, Elsweyr, Summerset and Morrowind Chapters", etc
