Requesting character load is taking longer than usual

This morning it took 10 minutes to get in on this server. First try - it dropped me back to lobby, then said I was logged in...when I wasn't. So I had to log in on PC/EU to clear it.
And then it still took 5 minutes to get in on the second try, with most of that sitting at "requesting character load."
Usually I have worse trouble getting on PC/EU. Did you break the login server when you reset the servers this week?

✭They said they speeded up the character load code by making it multi-threaded, and indeed the time it takes from when I get the load screen is shorter now, but the considerably longer time it now takes to "request character load", with the computer and the network remaining more or less idle, and the fact that it sometimes fails and throws you to the login screen, makes that slight speedup moot for me. Changing characters can take several minutes, which is longer than most guild groups will wait for a "quick relog, brb" before assuming I crashed or got a phone call or something. Daily crafting writs take me twice as long as they used to when I have the energy to do them on eight characters, and that is all due to increased loading times.3 -

✭✭✭✭On PC-EU sometimes "requesting character load" takes a long time(not the loading screen). My guess is one of the login servers is half broken. Or the login server reached some kind of load limit.
Normally "requesting character load" takes about as long as the loading screen(6-10 secs), but when it bugs out it can last like 5-6 minutes. The bugging out happens about once every 5 characters, on days where it happens. Some days the "requesting character load" is completely fine.1 -
