Stop the nerfs!

Normally, I'm 100% on-board with Team Stop Crying Nerf!

But... there's some really nonsensically overperforming stuff out there in PVP. The idea that you should have to choose between survivability and damage has been thrown out the window. and that's just inherently bad. There's only so long people who actually value the games they play being good will put up with this level of bad.

Something drastic has to change. Fortunately, drastic is the only way ZOS knows how to change things.

What exactly are you talking about? The current patch is probably the one with the highest DPS output ever for each class.

And this. PvE DPS is at an all time high while at the same time the things that might see a nerf soon (proc sets) are PvP focussed anyway.

PVE DPS is only high because of the Pale Order + Simmering Frenzy build. I doubt that will last much longer, and without it DPS is significantly lower than previous patches. I’m not going to say “no nerfs” because things like this are obviously overpowered and result in no build diversity. I do want to see fewer nerfs to things that are already mediocre (like Slimecraw, False Gods, Grundwulf, New Moon Acolyte), and some buffs to things that are underperforming (like Nerieneth, Asylum and Blackrose destruction staves. and almost all proc sets in PVE).

DPS testing is also misleading after all the buffs to the Iron Atronach dummy this patch. Everyone gained around 10% there without actually doing any better in dungeons or trials. Often they do worse in real content because so many % multipliers from buffs/debuffs were reduced.

That is really not how things look like. You can rarely see people running with pale order+simmering frenzy in low , mid and high game end. It's more of a trick comparable to old thrassians (but weaker) then real cause of general power increase in PvE. Thrassian was nice here and there but was everyone really running it everywhere ? Developer can't balance everything to be comparable. Some things are weaker so others can be stronger. That was and is still obvious in the game with so many moving parts. Some things of course could be balanced better but as I've said there is many moving parts in the game and it's hard to make everything equall.

When it comes to the nerfs to many percentage multipliers from buffs and debuffs well then yes there were nerfs to those in values but buffs in uptimes. Major slayer for example got a nerf from 15 to 10 percent but now sets like RO , master architect or war machine allows for way more reliable application of it in groups so there is no longer need for every stam DD to run in lokke. Major vulnerability while getting massive hit to percentage value got it's uptime buffed. We've also seen massive buffs to penetrations resulting with achieving cap way easier which allows to improve support (for example previously mentioned RO is now easier to implement in a group). Crit chances and crit dmg which are the core of PvE DPS were also increased through buffs to many sets and adding brittle debuff. Basically for every nerf related to PvE we've seen equal or stronger buff.
