Limit on slots for trophies?

110 slots (with ESO+!) for collectibles in the biggest house? I can't display my trophies altogether. Concerning the ridiculous prices for "mansions" and an ever-increasing number of DLC dungeons can we expect an increase in slots? At least to 200 for the nearest future? Is it impossible technically or what? What's the point of having trophies from dungeons if you can't put them in your house.

The collectibles slots have been the bane of housing.

WE can't even fit all the trials, dungeon and eso plus trophies in the biggest houses. These should all be slots in a separate additional category.

As for mounts etc. ESO are missing a major opportunity here. Housing and collections are the ESO cash cow (and the game's gold sink.) At least let us show them all off for you! (Marketing 101)

I'd even trade some traditional slots for the ability to raise the number of special collectibles.

A tour of a house which fitted in all game achievement furnishings/trophies, other housing rewards, mounts, would be a great promotion for all aspects of game play (and the st0re) and it's not possible to do creatively.

ZoS has said repeatedly the numbers are where they are at because of performance issues. It isn't that they do not want to allow more slots it is that as of now they are not able to do so without impacting performance.

I can believe that, but it would lead me to assume that I can fill all of those different categories and still be okay.

What if you didn’t care about trophies and didn’t place any of them? Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to use more of some other category instead so you aren’t missing out on the total number of slots combined?

I guess I’m thinking that there could be some slider bars to customize that way we use slots, but it might take some testing to determine how they could be changed. It would be great though.

I plan to have 0 trophies and 0 houseguests and 0 special effect furnishings (whatever that category is called). How many regular furnishings could I have above the current limit instead?

I don't know why they have to categorized slots anyway. Why not just combine them all together. Or even allow us to change allottment using sliders if having 50 pets would cause a crash. If we want 20 cats but only 50 trophies then that would help. Or perhaps we could take 75 of those collectable slots and move them into traditional if we wish.

This is correct. In fact the performance issues are mainly due to last gen consoles like Xbox One and PS4, there are some homes that simply do not run currently let alone raising the cap.

That was also explained. Trophies impact the server different than other furnishings and the numbers they gave us are a balance.

They need to let us open up more than one house at a time to guests. That way we can split our trophies up between houses and still show them off.

I would be more inclined to believe that reasoning had they not later gone and done just that: they raised the limit — despite having previously cited those performance concerns — for mansions to accommodate all trophies and busts. They then neglected to keep raising the limit as new dungeons and trials were added.

Either we weren’t really at the stopping point in terms of performance limit before, when they said we were, or they decided it was worth violating performance limits permanently to let mansions fit everything temporarily.

Neither is a particularly appealing conclusion imo.

If I ever fall down the rabbit hole of furnishing my houses, I plan to split up my trophies based on the zones they came from, rather than trying to fit them all into the same house.

My theory for the separate collections category is the fact that we can place the same item in multiple homes. So to prevent you from filling multiple homes with the same 700 items they impose that rule so that you have to buy/craft separate furniture items for each slot you want to use. It's there to make sure that furniture will remain Crown and gold sink.

The collections cap is silly if you ask me, especially now when they want to sell us houseguests that have to share this low limit with mounts, pets and trophies.

Knowing the amount of money they could generate with house guests, pets and mounts for housing kind of proves the limited space because of performance issues. It is easy to see an increase would generate all kinds of funds. They are in business to continue generating profit. If they are not implementing an obvious money maker there is good reason.

I still think they should have the inside and and outside of homes as different instances. That way we can stick pets and mounts in the yard and house guests inside. As each instance would have its own max splitting inside and outside would double what we could put in.
With larger places they might also be able to instance upstairs/downstairs and things like that. I would tolerate a load screen going down to my basement.
