Is learning the alchemy ingredients against the TOS? Feels like it.

Or rather is it an limit on how long you can stay in the alchemy station?
I used the UESP guide to learn the ingredients, came to 11 on the list before the game booted me and I can not log in.
Granted I got an phone call while at the station who might be the reason why i was kicked so fast?

I know that many people do that and nothing happened to them. I also stayed at the alchemy station for a longer time more than once because the telephone or the doorbell rang and I went afk - didn't get kicked either.

It's not against terms of service. Stations are not competitive and multiple players can use the same crafting station at once. Probably just a random DC.

Happened to me when it kicked me too. Can't remember what it said the reason was. I just got back on and continued but with my mouse instead of only keys to learn alchemy.

Probably. Sometimes is just happens. Happened to me while browsing the bank (and actively sorting things) a few times. It really means nothing.

This seems to happen specifically when you are trying to learn alchemy ingredient traits. It's nothing to do with the overall length of time your toon has spent at the Alchemy bench.

I got "booted from server" three times while researching ingredient traits on my newest toon a few days ago. There seems to be a server-side data store holding your toon's known ingredient traits that just can't keep up with the pace of updates while you are discovering a lot of new traits at once.

When you do get booted from the server the help says it is best to wait a few minutes before trying to log in again.

The only time I've ever gotten booted from the game while doing anything alchemy related is turning in 50-100 alchemy master writs in a row with 150% xp gain scroll. This has happened multiple times to me and I'm not sure if the game has a built in XP per minute safeguard to prevent bug abusing or if I just overwhelmed the system.

Other than that I would say you just got a random disconnect and it had nothing to do with learning alchemy traits.

I suspect its some sort anti bot system. Kind of like people got banned from hitching an ride in the two man mount on PTS

Its not random disconnect as its way to regular and disconnect does not give booted but an lost connection to server sort of message.

Anyway I did an random dungeon on character and was able to finish and then level up to 50 without more issues.

Now enjoying strong potions.

It has happened to me every time I try to learn alchemy ingredients on five different alts. I don't think it is random. I usually start on the alchemy station in my house until I get kicked off and then move to Summerset to finish it. If I move to a different station, it doesn't seem to happen again. However, if I stay at the same station I have been kicked off as many as three times while finishing the training. It is annoying, but it is a task I don't do very often.

Yes ive had trouble w sudden disconnect and error 307 i think it was .. while learning alchemy properties too ..

i think it has to do w updating info on the server .. if too big of a backlog builds up u can be booted and left unable to relog for a while.

Doing alchemy in short bursts seems to be ok, its just when u are trying to learn a lot in one go that the trouble arises.

i have also got this while trying to decorate a house .. same deal .. disco, and error 307, very frustrating.

I had that happen twice on new toons that were learning their way up.
No phone call was involved.

I assumed the game thought I was spamming,, the same way I get kicked if I pre-make dozens of masterwrit items and turn them all in too quickly (on a toon with a boost on).
It happens a lot.

Probably just the automated system seeing you do far too many things in a short time (even if it's perfectly fine to do so) and kicking you as a precaution in case you're a bot/scammer/hacker/etc.

Any chance you're a warden? If you have a bear out at a crafting station, it's possible you got reported by enough people to trigger the same sort of effect in order to move the bear off of interactables.

I recently learned all the Alchemy ingredients on 3 different characters. All 3 were booted out of the game after awhile, and had to wait to log back in.

This is not because there it's a time limit for how long you use a crafting table, and it's not some kind of antibot feature. The game just needs to catch up with you.

The game is slow to process some of our activities. That is all this is. The system is overwhelmed by your activity and needs to catch up.

It's random, I've turned in 500 master writs with no problem and been booted doing 30!

I've also been kicked learning alchemy effects but only once and wasn't even the latest time. I figure 1 out of 18 times is probably a win for this game

It's not coincidence when it comes to alchemy fast trait learning. Server will boot you. Wasn't a case 1+ years ago, but it is now. All my later characters got booted when doing this, earlier characters weren't.

Power leveling alchemy (making the same poison over and over) doesn't do this tho. Happens only when learning traits rapidly.

The server tends to boot people who are creating too much input to the server - like when I craft really quickly or make changes to my gear too quickly (like newly enchanting a gear set). But it can happen by no reason as well - being afk is not a reason, sometimes I can be afk for a quite long time, sometimes it won't be more than a couple of minutes. I don't know if it is like that, but I guess the server might just push some less active players from the server, when server load gets too high.

Yes its related to changing ingredients a lot who you do then learning the ingresses.
Its not about overwhelming the server with data. An large trash fight will generate 100 times more.
Nor achievements who ingredient knowledge is unless very mistaken, enter a well decorated house you have on an new character and they get lots of housing achievements at once.
Again I think its some sort of anti bot system who kicks in.

This is "Error 307: Booted From Server." There are several posts on ESO Forums about this. Just search for Error 307.

LashanW is correct. There is an official ZOS post about Error 307, which LashanW quoted. Even though zaria disagreed with the answer, the answer is the official ZOS explanation. That being: "the server needs that time to 'catch up' to your data." So, apparently, it's a client-side/server-side data-lag causing the Error, not some "cheating" detection protocol triggered by alchemy-leveling.

The ESO Forums post "Error 307 Booted from server................." has an official ZOS link to the following "support article":

I have had this happen every time I level-up alchemy on a new character. It's taken me 10 to 20 minutes to re-log after an Error 307 disconnect.
